I am asking about the migration certificate as because our university requires original marksheet to issue migration but that one is deposited at NIT...thats the problem

@ puys who had joined nit earlier and withdrawn admission later:

is it necessary for the candidate to be present to collect back the certificates

Well even if its not asked for the migration certificate..what's the problem with keeping it. I would suggest you to take it from the University. It may be required later and you will not have to run for it at the last moment.

Yes Rone July 19th is the date of opening .. all nits all over for all the depts start their classes on that date..

I think there will not be any problem. You can submit course compl cetificate and statement of marks and a letter issued by University stating it will take more time to issue the same. You can write an application to the dean/hod regarding the same.

In my university statement of marks and provisional certificates are given together when the result is out. For migration we have to apply in the university with an application along with xerox copy of CLC (forwarded by the principal).

It is always advisable to enroll in a residential mba programme. If NIT is providing hostel..then why to stay at home.If you will stay in college hostel u will get chance to interact more with the peers and hence will learn more. I think u are mature enough to decide what to do.

As far as I know..there are still 12 seats are vacant. So they are certainly gonna come with 2nd waiting list. No idea about when the waitlist be released. You may call DOMS to know further.

Wi-Fi Where and whom did u heard it from? As far as I know..no Wi- Fi in NIT Campus. Department and computer centers are connected to LAN. You will be given a user id and pwd to log in. Rs. 5 per hour will be charged and deducted from the deposit of Rs. 1000 made against Computer Fees. Print out will cost Rs. 1 per page and the same will be deducted from the deposit of Rs. 200 made against Print out charges.( both deposits are already made in the Semester Fees) You have to deposit once your balance is over.

Well..it depends. In the beginning it will end a bit early....it will stretch with the time passes as we will have lots of activities like presentation and all....I guess it would end at 5-6 pm and maximum 8pm in some cases. Breaks will be there so no need to worry

For the same, the Ministry is working on a refinance scheme. This would involve, setting up of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to refinance banks for giving educational loans at a rate of interest below the PLR. National Education Finance Corporate (NEFC) will have to be set up to refinance the banks.

It is intended that the rate of interest charged will be based on parent's income.





Parents with income less than Rs 4.5 lakhs p.a. will be charged 4%

Parents with income more than Rs 4.5 lakhs p.a. and requiring a loan of less than Rs 12 lakhs will get it at 7%

For loan amounts above Rs 12 lakhs, interest will be charged at 9%



so if someone can afford to wait for a couple of months to apply for edu laon. it could well be worth it ..
though there is no guarantee that when the above proposal would be implemented

We will have our classes in the lecture hall complex not in the department...and lecture hall complex class rooms are non-ac. 2nd year students will have their classes in department having AC rooms.

IIM Trichy will have it's hostel in NITT and the classes would yake place in BHEL campus somewhere near BIM...
The permanent campus it seems is coming up somewhere near BU..

See regarding our prev. batch placements around 15 ppl did t get offers, but they were shortlisted and interviewed. Since we are at different places for interns, we are not able to contact our Srs (since they are also relocating and changing numbers). Please wait for the report. I can provide u details regarding SUmmers , for which i have the data. Summers was a clean chit with over 35 companies taking part. Around 5-6 cos had no ppl to take. nearly 30% of the batch is getting Stipend. We have got niche profiles in Marketing Research, Finance, Business Intelligence, Analytics and Operations. To name some big brands keep it : AOL, Mindtree, Ashok Leyaland, NSE, Bank of India, Eage Burgmann, EID Parry, ICEX, Madras Stock Exchange etc.


Placements will be mainly driven by U STUDENTS, Alumni, and some top brass faculty. It s all about how you people unite, work and win.


I will make one thing very very very clear:


The placements and overall success of ur batch will depend on YOU ppl only . . how you create, unite and work. There are a lot of challenges involving 90 ppl.


Studying here in NIT is not just like college, it s like running a small business with 90+ stakeholders. You will have to put a very collective and concentrated work to win.


Do not worry, we Srs are there to help u out. Alumni are like God. Faculty s will guide u thru.

1.So as to , what is the procedure to revoke back the admission we opted for.
2.How long will it take for us to get the fee back. (Any idea on deductions)
3.Will it be a one days work or will they ask us to come back for 2-3 days.
4. When will they return our certificates

1. Write an application that you want to cancel your admission.
2. It may take over a month to get the fee back deducting Rs.1000 if you cancel it withing stipulated time limit( AICTE norms)
3. Its one day work but they may ask you to come the next day to collect the certificates.
4.You may get the certificates back very same day...in somes case the next day. Saturdays and Sundays are off..so plan it accordingly.

I got it done in one day only.

I dont know how many exactly got in. But nearly 50 had turned up and with me nearly 20 people joined. Nearly 10 people wer asked to leave and wait for the 2nd waiting list.
And true guys we should be more active in orkut and facebook. What is the link for facebook guys? and one more thing guys when do we have to report to hostel? Which date?

There were 34 seats vacant for the 1st waitlist out of which 22 seats are filled. So 12 seats still vacant. May be 13(if i cancel my admission) or a few more depending on how many ppl get their admission canceled. I will probably get my admission cancel if my IIFM waitlist is cleared. So Ppl who are in the 2nd waitlist can cheer.

u ppl may think how can i b certain in these things... "m typin tis post using the nit laptop only"he he...
so its better to spend 5 or 10000 more to buy a good lap....

my suggestionn.. DELL.. i3 processor, 3 or 4 gb ram, 320 or 500 gb harddisk, windows 7 home premium os and also wit other new inbuilt technologies.... cost could b around 34000.....:)
