Confused after seeing two different sites. Don't know which to believe. They are:

(1) MBA Admissions-2009

(2) FAQ's - DoMS NIT Trichy

The first one gives following details:

(a) Eligibilty : grad. only
(b) Reservation for OBC, SC and ST

The second one gives following details:

(a) Eligibilty : grad. with 60%
(b) Reservation for SC and ST only, not for OBC

Both these changes affect me. I have less than 60%. I have filled the form. But I have not sent it.

Please tell which of these is correct.

Please ignore the information provided in the domsnitt.in site . It is not being updated properly. any info on the site nitt.edu is official.

You can send thru Speed Post also. . . Not Private Courier.

This is what one of the seniors said some days back, its on page 14 of this thread....

"The applicants will not be sent an ackmnt whether the form has been received at the department. They will be getting their GD/PI call letters once they are short-listed. This is the information from the dept. "

hi seniors. last date to reach form at trichy is 1 march. and cat score is expected on 27/28(end of februry). so can i send the form on 28 so that it reach tricy by 2/3, as i want to apply with my cat score after getting score. will the delay of 2/3 days be acceptable.

While filling the form I read the first link and filled the form according to it(even have send it), saw the second one now which says 60% in grad, also in the second link DD to be made is of Rs.600 and in the first one DD to be obtained is of Rs. 1000(for open category).
But if you see the important dates in both of them it differs, so may be when they extended the date they might have reduced the criteria and increased the application fees.
Seniors please check into this!!!!!!

Guys,Wanted to share something on the institute.I have been there for the GD/PI last year and converted it too.The campus is wonderful,as every nit would be .It has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Talking of ROI,yeah definitely it helps.But only has to really think of long term not just after just 2 years.You should think about the profile you get ,the company you get placed,the brand value the institute has after two years.

In fact a batch-mate of mine joined it as a fresher and is now placed with a good package that i would appreciate ,but still there are only limited offers like that and you have to be lucky and good enough to seize the opportunities you get in the institute.

It all comes to the person who wishes to study in the institute,his pressure to do an mba this year itself..well people from 95 percentile to 65 percentile study here,you could be any one these

u will lose only 100 rupees max as DD cancellation charge. this is the best option. don't wait for last day to apply online. servers can be up or down anytime. get it done by feb 20 atleast.

i will take this to the Department and ask them to upload the list of received application. Atleast on Feb 15.

1. About the ROI : We rank after FMS in terms of ROI. Profiles offered are :

Business Analyst , Data Analyst, Marketing Engineer, Management trainees (Mostly for HR, Finance), Niche profiles in Knowledge services, Marketing Research.

2.You have a work-ex of 2.5 years, with 3+ lacs of sal, so you can just calculate, add another two years @ the same increment level, your sal might be 5+. So if you are getting arnd 6+ (after two years), it s going to be profitable. The college will not give assurance that you will get that, but provide you with all equipments to have that. Using it to your benefit is in your hands. Moreover the placement scenario and salaries you will get purely depends upon the market conditions and the Economy. So nothing can be assured. We have people up to 54 months work ex. I have provided you the data. Choice is your s to make.

3. About the curriculum: The entire structure is designed as per industry requirement. The method which you will study will depend upon the Faculty you get. It is a mix of both research and acad.

For Marketing, going as per previous years' placement data: the profiles are: Marketing Research, IT Marketing, Online Marketing, Business Analyst for Marketing Verticals in IT.

For Finance mostly Management Trainees, Credit and Risk - Business Analysts in IT.

don't worry. it will have reached. there is no acknowledgment. it will be difficult to check all apps and find out. ask pinto and pradeep if they can upload the list of students whose apps have reached department.

i will take this to the Department and ask them to upload the list of received application. Atleast on Feb 15.

my CGPA til 5 semester is 3.096 on a scale of 4.0. in the online form there is a provision to mention our UG %/CGPA. bt hw wil they kno on wat scale is this CGPA? hw shud i mention it? it accepts only 5 characters and only "numbers", " . " and "%" r allowed. i cant even write 3.09/4 or anythin....

plz suggest wat shud i mention?

i was looking for this thread.i wanted to know how the college in terms of Finance since i am interested in specialization in Finance and i couldn't find much info about the Faculty of Finance and Companies That recruit finance student from Doms.if i am right 89 percentile was last years cut-off for General category right?
