You can come down to campus, attend the counselling and check if you are selected and then choose to join here. If so, then you can later cancel your admission from the other institute and get your documents.

Dont worry Mr.tnj.raj,

The DD has a validity for six months in our country so you can use it for your hostel admission.

I'm sure they would ask you to pay your fees before you check in.

thats very true but if not selected then 2500KM x 2 = 5000 Km journey will pain a lot to me.

Congratualtions on your admit..! So here are my answers to your random questions

1) I opine we would also move out to the same new hostel with single occupancy. So I'm not sure how much the revised hostel fees would be. But don worry it definitely would not be an alarming increase.

2) I'm not sure if there is a way to get the fee details before joining the course. It is normally distributed only after the commencement of the course on request. But I would suggest you to consider looking for a loan with the SBI bank within the college premises. NIT T has the SBI scholar scheme, so getting the loan from them would be way easier than outside.

3) Do not trouble yourself by bringing all those stuff from your place. You can get everything from the Gurunath store inside the campus - the mattresses, pillows, all plastic stuff you need, and the regular groceries.

There would be even stalls for buying bicycles the entire month of summer. So don bother to buy something in Trichy and transport it to the campus. I did that mistake..!

4) Those of us who already had their suit, brought it with them. But others got it stitched with Raymonds Trichy. Their tailor would come down to campus to take the order.

In case if you do not get your call converted, you can very go back to your bank, cancel your DD and get the cash after the processing fee. You just need to keep the DD receipt safely..! So I don't think it would be an issue.

The hostel fees had been mentioned in the annexure but it has been mentioned that the fees would be informed to you during the counselling. I opine there might be a revised fees as per the new hostel guidelines. I ll try to check on that and get back to you.

Regarding your question on the choice of colleges, we would not be able to advise you on that front. We would be able to help you with any information you would like to have on our department. so - The ball is in your court !!

i have a few queries/problems:

1. On 2nd, during counselling, I had made an undertaking stating that i will submit my degree certificate by 21st may because i had not received it from the university then. i was admitted into DOMs provisionally. however, there is a problem. i received it last week with a spelling mistake in my name! so i had to request for another one. now they will take another 2-3weeks to give me a new one. nobody is answering the calls in the office. how do i go about this issue?

2. classes begin on 9th july, i am told. when will our hostels be allotted? when should we move into them?

1) Do drop an email tot he admissions office stating the issue. I can understand there would be few problems in picking up the call during this time frame.

I hope you would have taken a photocopy of the certificate you had submitted for correction. Try to send a scan copy of the same along with your email and ask for extension in the deadline. They would certainly oblige in these genuine grounds.

2) The hostels would be ready at least two/three days before your date of joining. I think the joining date is not confirmed yet and would be informed to you officially. You can check in to your hostel two days in advance.

If you arrive at NIT Trichy earlier than that due to non availability of tickets from distant places, you can request to be put up in a temporary hostel until your hostel gets ready.

Do let us know if you were able to reach someone in the campus by phone.

@sandeep according to nitt office there are 24 seat in obc out of which 12 for TN and 12 for outside tn.......donot know about outside tn obc seat that how many are vacant now.....but for TN obc there are still 3 sheat remainig for which they are calling 9 student from the same category....i m in TN OBC but my waiting no is w/l 14........ so he told upto w/l 9 will be call........and regarding another list(list after 2nd waiting list) he told there will not be any more list after that(i.e. after 2nd waiting list)........ if seat remain so offerletter will be mailed to candidate

These questions may look weird. But i am asking all these stuffs to apply loan as it takes 20-30 days to process. It would be helpful to me if someone can reply.

1) The MBA programme is the only course which follows trimester system in NIT. Due to administration procedures, the fees is collected in semester patterns along with B.Tech/M.Tech system. You would be required to pay the fees only twice per yer and not for every trimester.

2) The hostel fees is collected in the same pattern along with tuition fees (twice per year)

3) There is no system of prepaid coupons for food at our mess. The fee you pay includes the entire menu planned. But you do have extras available in all the messes apart from the regular menu, for which you have to pay the additional amount and get it.

4) The stipend is provided only to post graduate engineering students and not to professional courses like MBA. DoMS students are not eligible for the MHRD's monthly stipend.
