Hi All,

With the CAT 2011 notifications out, puys and other guys would already be looking at options on institutes to apply for. This thread would facilitate in helping you find answers to your queries related to admission into DoMS,IIT Madras.Please use this single thread for all queries regarding admissions for 2012-2014 at DoMS, IIT Madras. We will provide information on procedures & date deadlines regarding applications and admission process of DoMS, IIT-M as and when we get information of value. Wish all you people the very best for all the competitive exams that you might be taking up this year!!!!

P.S. : JMET has been discontinued from this year onwards for admission into MBA program in all the six IIT's and IISc.

I have a second division in B.tech with 6.61 CGPA. Am I eligible for DoMS?

What is the eligibility criteria for reserved category students?? It is not explicitly mentioned on the website...Can someone enlighten me with this?

Only CAT scores are considered for domestic candidates. GMAT scores are taken into account onky for foreign nationals.

As far as IIT-M is concerned, please take into consideration your degree marks. I am not in a position to say about any other IIT.

I can't disclose that right now. The details would be officially released in a few days. This thread as well as the DoMS website would be updated with the latest information. The number of seats is usually between 70-80. This number should not change drastically.

Hi Rohit
A candidate having a Masters degree in any discipline (with first class) is eligible to apply. He can have Bachelors in any discipline, not necessarily BE/ B.Tech. BE/ B.Tech is required only for those candidates who have Bachelors degree only.

hi richa sri. are commerce guys also eligible to apply. i read on IIT madras' website , it said graduates from any discipline with a masters degree scoring 1st class. is this true?

how many seats r there in iitm..

The work experience of a candidate is taken into account irrespective of where he has worked and for how long. The admission process is open for all.

Work ex is not a mandatory factor. The entire profile of a candidate is taken into account while considering him for admission. The dates for the admission process would be released soon. The website as well as the pagalguy thread would be updated once they are released.

I would like to ask all the aspirants; please don't do any kind of personal estimation as the cut-offs in many colleges may vary due to CAT being the umbrella exam for gaining entry to those institutes. The cutoffs are decided once the applications have been processed and the exam is conducted. Since, from this year onwards only CAT score will be considered (JMET has been discontinued), you can expect things to be a little different from previous years. Also, we are not in a position to...
