Sorry buddy..but nothing can be done now..the results are final...wish you all the best for your future endeavors...this is definitely not the end of anything bro..you are poised for something better.

About 4 weeks ago, if anyone told me that I'll not get anywhere at 94.57, I used to reply that I'll receive calls at least from IITs (except Delhi and Bombay).
Now, "the nightmare" brought up its hideous head once again, once again all my efforts fell "just short", once again I am forced to question the purpose of putting up all the effort.
I've been at this since July 2008 (3rd Year Graduation), gave the exam 3 times (Jan 2010, Nov 2010, Nov 2011).
Last year I gave my 100% and was able to score 77.xx%tile; this time I made no effort at all, scored 94.57 (emphasizing to show that luck is a major factor that counts not effort).
But beyond this, last year's story repeated itself. I always missed cut-offs by <10 marks, this time is no different.
Finally my last year's result and this year's result:
CAT 2010: OA 77.xx, QA: 65, DI:69, VA:86.xx
JMET 2010: OA: 65 (Cut-off 70)
NMAT 2010: 201 (Cut-off 210, all sections cleared)
CAT 2011: OA: 94.57, VA: 86.39, QA: 95.95. (Missed all IITs didnt apply in any other so Im not going anywhere)
Now, Id like some advice on whether it would be wise to give one final push or should I just give it up for good accepting my fate?
Currently Im working in an IT company, can extract maximum 3 hrs per day for study.
Please give me an honest advice.

I think EX-MBA might be a good Idea. Competition is little less. But you must have your acads all over 75. Failing that, you dont have a chance.

Also Interviewrs for EX-MBA ask a lot about your work. And you working in IT company, They will scrub every skin out of you. So be prepared and convince them that you dont want to do MBA just to change field because you dont like your work.

And if really it is the case then switch your job.
But definitely there is no need of disheartening. whether MBA or not you must not lose hope. You want to do MBA just to improve your lifestyle. Without it also you can acheive what you want to. Just think on this

Buddy dont be disheartened. In your case you can think of few options: Keep trying, you may improve your score in next attempt.
You can also think of getting few years of experience and then go for Executive MBA where the competition is little less.
If you really want to get in this year and you think it will be very very difficult to improve your score next, you can also think of applying to IISc Management programme. Applications are still open. They have a very specific programme though so evaluate whether you want to go for that. You can check IISc PG thread if you want to know more about the dept and programme.

PS: I am an alumni of DOMS IISc but that time it was an MBA programme.

I just saw your post and think i should reply.Well the case you have shared here is same with many of us n moreover i personally feel the CAT result shows many surprises since it has become computer based.It has become more luck based game nw.I myself gave CAT n being an engineer was expecting better score in quant than VA but got meagre 65 in quant and 99 in va. So i personally believe CAT is more a luck game nw n infact you can bet on XAT.Now coming to your point if you are still 23-24 year old and you think you can give chance give it one more chance and then see may be you can get good result bt don't indulge in it too much don't ignore your office work and prepare only 2-3 hour everyday without tension.
next year if you get good score you can think of getting a good clg if not you can think of changing job for better package

I stumbled upon your post accidentally and thought i should reply....

First realize that MBA is not a panacea for everything ,it is only a means not an end in itself .Concentrate on your work and try to excel at things what you do currently.
Personally I feel an MBA is really enjoyable only if you are able to relate things from work experience to what u learn from it ...
Work hard,both in your professional life and for CAT...remember that famous PG quote "Hardwork wont be unrewarded for a long time"..All the best

P.S:I was rejected by IIT-Madras two years back in the interview.I still wrote CAT two more times but to no avail(got a score which should be among the least i scored in my mocks)...I
do my work with passion and happy with where I am now.

now that the cut offs are officially out i fail to understand why the delay....and more the delay, more is the difficulty in getting tickets...i hope they bring out the list....this delay is putting everyone in thick soup....
