Dear Aashish Mahav Rao Scindhindia marg was formerly called Canning road. I guess ur center is kerala education society. So let me explain u the way its very simple.
Reaching CP u first go to K. G. marg which I think u know very well.Go straight, after two signals u find a round about, the immediate left to that round about is madav rao scindhia marg. Rest assured, the approach is very easy.:)

haven't got mine still & even though the junta keeps reminding of the 3rd Nov deadline.........can't help think why so much variation in the receipt of admit cards.....this only leads to more confusion to the already harrassed junta keeping track of deadline of forms, running from one bank to the other ,making visit to the courier/PO almost biweekly .........

i hope IIMA wakes up & this anxious wait gets over soon...........

meanwhile all those who r in the same shoes as mine i can just say that the tensions & pressures after doin MBA are goin to much much more than all these worries we have so maybe this is a part of our training & colleges seem to have fun imparting it !!

My centre is Abha Saheb Garware College.
It is such a crowded place, I had the same centre last year and some Band kept playing throughout the exam.Ironically, it stopped when the exam was over.:x

I was really disturbed last time cause I was sittin close to the window.

Test Admit Card

"... The Admit Cards were mailed by the appropriate IIM by October 16, 2005. You should contact the Admissions Office of the IIM concerned, and also a reminder (quoting the Test Centre chosen by you, the CAF Number and the CAT Bulletin Number), only if you do not receive the Admit Card by November 3, 2005. Please quote your Test Registration Number in all your subsequent correspondence with the IIMs."

i came to know my centre which is jyothi nivas college , hosur road BANGALORE. but they havnt mentioned centre code.

most prob the code is the city code in which ur exam center is located !! u can get it in CAT brochure....but do confirm with someone who already applied for MDI

While coming from Hi-Tech City towards Panjagutta, the college lies a few 100 metres before ' Chutney's ' /Subway/ Nagarjuna Circle. Can't miss it, it's on the main road only.

Exactly dear. There should not be a pessimism around for non reciept some or other u will get that. If not so u can report directly to the center u got on the previous day and get the duplicate issued there.
For more one can go to IIM website BUT hey what I said applies only when u not recieve the Admit card upto 30 oct.

Whats the issue mate??...Its so clearly written ki its the SIES Collof Arts n Sc. Have even specified a landmark; The very famos 'Gurukripa' which is a fast food joint...Its barely a 4 min walk frm Sion Station...N if u r still wary abt the whole issue, wld b better if u cld n check out the place once atlst in advance...Once again I'l say, its a famos place, shldnt b a prblm locating it...

Methinks that once u start solving the paper u do not really have time to think about anything else.

Jus wana tell u ki there r 2 buildings in Sion by the name of SIES...1 is the building for Arts n Sc. (Where I studied) n then theres another building very far away for the Commerce stream...Make sure abhi se hi which is your center, else on 20/11 u shdlnt end up running frm 1 place to another...

I write all my semester exams at this centre
well..Biggest advantage is that it is at a very convenient location so i guess u won't have to travel much. Infrastructure is pretty decent like any other Engineering college.

hii everybody i have got my admit card today and its thakur school at kandivali. well dont worry if you havent got your admit cards there has been no one according to the iims who do not recieve the admit card before nov 20.... thats a totlally different thing that about a 1000 guys loose their admits every year ..

now coming back to the point of discussion as i was going through the thread as for of mumbai we can sum off all the places located and the fastest way to get there and also some places nearby with the same name which can be a major problem .. so here it goes

1 THAKUR POLYTECNIC KANDIVALI EAST (THAKUR COMPLEX)

HEY i started with this college because i stay within 2 mins of this place and i know what it gets to get to this place(beleive me its quite tough with the auto drivers out here)

as for thakur polytecnic its in thakur complex at kandivali east .. its at the left hand side of the highway facing north.

the fastest way to get to thakur poly.. is to get down at kandivali railway station and get auto for thakur complex (if u dont get one just chill).. there is a busstation near by which is on the east side at a bus no called 300 takes you to the last stop of thakur complex (also called sanskruti) after you have reached thakur complex .. thakur poly tecnic is just 30 seconds away

CAUTION: there are about 6 different colleges named after thakur out here so be carefull do not ask any body on road for the address they may misdirect you..

thakur college of science commerce and arts , thakur college of engg and tech, thakur shyamnarayan school, are ALL DIFFERENT FROM THAKUR POLYTECNIC AND ARE LOCATED 2 KMS AWAY and is quite away


2 THAKUR COLLEGE OF ENGG, THAKUR COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND SCIENCE, THAKUR SHYAMNARAYAN SCHOOL THAKUR VILLAGE KANDIVALI EAST

these places are locted very near to each other and are located in thakur village ..
thakur village is located on the right hand side of the highway facing north

the fastest way to get there is an shared auto just outside kandivali east station its costs just re 5 (tell the auto guy THAKUR VILLAGE or SAMTA NAGAR its both the same)

again if u dont get auto just catch a bus no 287 at the bus station and tell him thakur village

CAUTION just remember that thakur village is the place to go and not thakur complex


3 IES HIGH SCHOOL DADAR (formerly known as KING GOERGE HIGh school)

genuinely a very GOOD place to give an exam as its located in the heart of the city and very easy to find it as it is one of the pioneer schools in bombay(many indian cricketers came from this school)

best way to reach the place is get off dadar railway station and come to the east side
catch a cab (no problems whatsso ever) and tell him IES or hindu colony or ruia college (2mins from the place)it will cost you only 13 rs

no CAUTIONS what so ever just know that it taes 2 mins by cab thats it

4 IES BANDRA (the place where it is known by KHERWADI)

a well known high school in the VICINITIES OF bandra east and kherwadi catch a rick and tell him IES if he does not know then just tell him KHERWADI(shiv sena supremo stays just 3 mins from your place so be cool that you are secured)

if you stay in andheri east to dahisar east near to the highway it is advisable to catch a BEST bus and get down at kherwadi BUS NOS 348 , 40

CAUTION the auto drivers here are famous to take people for a ride just know that it takes 5 6 mins from the station

5 ) SIES COLLEGE SION

this college is very near to sion station east
A VERY reputed colllege in sion no problems to get there

CAUTION SIES COLLEGE OF COMMERCE IS WAY TO FAR FROM SIES COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND COMMERCE SO PLZZZZZZZ SEE YOUR CENTRE FIRST

THIS IS my 2 paise towards pg hope you guys will also chip in but it is always advisable to check on your centre a week before

Forget it buddy.. In 2003 i got my centre thr.. n we were sitting in some nursery class.. everyone cud barely fit in the infrastructure over thr. (I dare nt call them benches. )

I wanted to clarify this digital /stopwatch issue. If you look at the back of the Admit Card then point 4 says that you cannot bring any calculators, watches with built-in calculators/memory, STOP WATCH ..........
Now my question is the people who have given CAT last year and used a stop watch, could they please check if the same instruction was there on the Admit Card last year also OR it has been changed this year? If it was the same then did they used the watch with or without permission of the invigilator?... I am asking this because I have been using the stop watch in a simple and cheap digi watch and have got quite used to it. And if one cannnot use a stop watch then I have to start giving test with a normal watch. I would aapreciate any inputs on this.

me gave cat last yr...also i do believe that stop watch was mentioned last yr too...anyways u can use a digital watch..but nt a specific stop watch...as in the hand held ones...if ya got stop watch in ur digital watch..it aint a prob...used my watch fr a whole range of tests lats yr and dint have a prob....hope this helped..
