Need your help as competing for CAT 2013 wont be easy and for I want to know that what should I do as I will be having a total experience of around 45 Months till Sept 2013 (30 months in IT + 15 Months prior experience in marketing) with poor or average academics of 10-73.8,12-62.2 and Engg-73.75%. What will be the better option to work for 2 more years and have a exp of more than 5 years and go for an Executive MBA or a two year programme will be better and what are my changes of getting into top B-school as per my acads. Please replyThanks
yes, to put it bluntly, getting into a top Indian Bschool will be tough with your acads.
That said, there are plenty of colleges which do not give much weightage to acads such as IIM C, L, New IIMs, NITIE, XL, FMS, MDI, IITs, etc.
However, one more problem you must face now is that it is somewhat difficult to get placed from a two year program in an Indian b-school if you have high workex.
I suggest you first do some research on what it takes to crack something like ISB or a foreign university. Apart from exams like GMAT & TOEFL, you have to prepare many other things such as admissions essays, SoPs, etc. The prep is more concentrated on your career plan, your achievements, your workex, etc. Plus there might also be some small weightage for acads and other things.
There are counsellors available for this. and a lot of info is there on the internet. if you can get a hang of this procedure and if you like your job, then it would be a good idea to go for a one year exec-MBA.
In the meantime you can always keep studying for CAT
