Messed up preparation and screwed up CAT twice ...recent one being yesterday's

1.Institute joined if any and from which State u r.
Joined Career Launcher last year and had to screw up attending classes due to unexpected international
travel opportunities. Attended hardly 8 classes.

2.When did u start prepration.
Well....i cant be exact...haven't prepared any section to the fullest till now...you can say its an ongoing process....just like a tube light blinking for a few time before actually lighting up

3.Books u have or plan to buy
Have complete CL material..I think its more than enough if I could do all of it... atleast this year

4.Number of Hours a day u give to CAT preparation.
after 40 minutes my mind starts wandering and my interest starts dropping and motivation crippling..I think I have to give 10 hours per week including weekends.

5.Weak section/Strong section.
Last year i thought it was verbal..and started preparing for it and screwed up completely in quant this year.. i think should seriously start working on all of the sections.

6.Institutes u wish to apply to
Well....should be top 20 colleges.my current package is higher than many of the top b-school's average packages. so doesn't make any sense to settle down for something lesser than that.

Byju is very good! especially if you are good with Quant basics, no idea about VA though

as far as the criteria of IIMs is concerned, let's not think about it..engineers or non engineers, the first step is to bell the cat

This is that time of the year when we get to interact with keen students aspiring to be a part of MICA. Yes, the MICA city meets are back again!

Like last year, a team of students, faculty members and some ex-students (most likely) would be visiting 8 cities in India to interact with aspirants who are curious to know about MICA and you get to hear it straight from the horse's mouth, all the myths decoded. The meets will be held in 8 cities between December 2011 and January 2012. The details would be shared soon.

you live in bhubaneshwar ?? where do you stay in kolkata? I am in final year graduation. i have joined TIME shobhabazar center.I haven't heard much about BYJU classes in kolkata so can't say anything about it. CL is considered good for CAT. But coaching instis only feed it is us who have to swallow and slog. ultimately it is only our hard work for which we are going to be rewarded. Just ensure that whatever insti you are joining their material is cat worthy and class room programmee is helpful.

I found the TIME materials quite good and faculty is excellent. And i have classes in the weekends from 10-12am. after that only we can meet. and since you are working you must figure out your prep schedule. pm me your email id.

Hi Niyati..if possible join now itself..don't wait till April...anyway the classes are just on weekends mostly, so you can get time out of your work/studies...this is my opinion

The time required varies from person to person, so the classic answer "it depends":-o
On a serious note, start preparing from now itself. Its your loss if you start late but you lose nothing if you start early, although I feel this is the right time to start due to the competition associated with the exam.

Regarding coaching, again depends on which city you are from. It varies from city to city, sometimes even branch to branch.
Do some heavy research on this before joining as you dont want to compromise on this.Talk to present students, enquire about the faculty before taking the plunge.
