I`m in my final year of engg.. placed with INFY n HUGHES..
Didnt take SNAP/NMAT/JMET/IRMA/MAT..

Though Im still left with XAT n FMS... Im already warming up for
CAT06... becoz no compromise on the insti for me.

I've lost my admit card after seeing the results and I would need it at the time of GD/PI.
I dont even have a xerox copy of the card. I tried calling IIML as it had issued it but they replied " Try looking for it again and call us only if u r not able to find it!!"
Did any senior had experienced anything like this before???
Can I get atleast a photocopy issued from IIML or not submitting it at the time of PI would be fine with teh IIMS?

hi me had lost my scorecard last yr and they sent me a duplicate ..had2 send them a DD of rs150 i think and i guess the procedure for the admit card is the same though dont know if that is applicable once cat is over but im sure they will give u a duplicate

Hey guys i just gave cat like an another exam i hardly remembered any formula nor i used any shortcuts all i did was planning in starting 6 mocks out of 9 of cl i kept changing my strategies and for last three i stick to one which i thought appropriate for me and same strategy i followed in cat one thing i see after all these days is cat is not about how deeply u know everything its all about how u manage everything in time better is ur time managment more marks u fetch and see im expecting more than 40 without even studying or pushing myself too hard and to all of us who failed to even fetch one call like me tht if a dumboo like me can fetch 40 odd marks comeon u all can get atleast 50 isnt it so better try harder next time but in managing time rather then solving each and every question and i assure u it will be us who will be getting the calls

This was my First cat.. i knew my dad wont let me work without an MBA degree so i gave it everything i had.. but i guess it was not enough.. Got a total of 33 - 40... but i wont give up people.. i wont go for any other GD PIs that i hve applied for(if i get a call).. Because that line
"Sorry you are not selected" gave me the strength to "Get Selected" Next year..
i will be in an IIM after Cat 06... And i will be at pagalguy to tell you about it...

Guys, this is the time when many will taste success and many many more than them taste failure. I know the kind of disappointment one goes through on not getting a call and seeing people around you getting one but thats the way life is.

They say failures are the stepping stone to success. And one famous scientist discovered sth after 100+ failures. People recognized him when he tasted success but imagine what he would have underwent when he failed so many times. The key takeaway from this CAT is that there are many of those out there who might have done better than you in the exam. It does not mean that they are better than you in all spheres. They were lucky to deliver in those 2hrs.

Never give up on your failure. Its easy to sermonize but you hav to take failure in your stride. There is no other way. If you think that its a kind of consolation for yourself, then let it be. Be frank atleast with yourself! All is not lost and IIMs are not THE way to reach the path of nirvana!!

IIM or no IIM, 2005 its going to be, for me !!

Call it lack of perseverance, or call it giving up, or call it anything else...... I just can't wait another year, I just can't wait.....for CAT 2006.

2003 & 2004 have hurt my dreams enough.

So, 2005 is my last attempt at MBA entrance exams.

And, wherever destiny takes me, I will be heading there, this year.

The IIM dream shattered (THRICE) ...... but I'm not gonna give fate another chance of making a mockery out of my failure.

So, CAT 2006, sorry, but I ain't coming back for you...

i was readin the previous few posts ...and i can understand the disappointment that those who didnt get the calls r feeling, but c'mon guys, u r being too harsh on urself...
not getting calls doesnt mean tat u r not good enuf, coz cat is heavily dependent on luck...those 2 hrs can go bad and u get screwed...but thats the way life is...unfair...
Where is ur spirit ??all is not lost....this is not the end of the world..
i have a frnd in Pune...much better than me ..since class 10th...we gave CAT together and i made it to IIM Indore ..while he didnt convert his IIM calls...thats the luck factor..but he didnt give up..the setback just strengthened his resolve..and he is back wit a bang this year....calls from all six...BLACKI

probably i cud understand wat ur goin thru cos im in the same boat....but i guess the whole xperience of CAT has actually been quite enriching for all of us...the competition,the discussions and all the hours of preparation....we"v all gone thru it all..n now thr seems to be a sudden silence all around ....i for sure wil miss al the action......but again this yrs result has made my resolve all the more stronger..of course thr r sum othr instis which iv applied to.....but if i dont get thru newhr il definitely cum back wid a bang....not nx yr though...am a fresher n plan to work for the nx 2 yrs now...so it wil be cat-07 for me...neways from wat i see most guys called r wid work ex...
for u, all il say is that move on...probably its the impact of the results which is showing now but evrythn wil fall in place tomo....trust me no calls by no measure means that ur not good enuff....i wont try to give gyaan for the remaining xams cos am finding it difficult to motivate even myself for that....but as i said probably things wil b normal by tomo morn.....

Dear Rohit,

I know it is hard to believe but it is fact. I could not give CAT immediately after my engineering (in 80's) due to personal reasons and then got completely sucked in my project job. But CAT was one of unfulfilled ambition in my mind. This year someone known to me was filling the form and told me that there is no age limit.

As a result I appeared for CAT with only 10 days prep. But I am planning to appear next year with more prep, only to prove myself and may be live another life with young guys like you.

Knowing your score, I am sure you got what you wanted. All the best and thanks for interest. BTW, is my post to UMAX is OK or shall I edit it. write frankly.

Congrats to all call getters. I guess with 5 down and only I to go it might well be 0/6. Its not that I expected them, but the disappointment still rankles. I guess I am only useful for posting on this thread.

I can feel the disappointment felt by you right now. But only cowards give-up. GMAT is OK but only because you are 26 you can not leave CAT. It is never too late for such things. I gave my first CAT this year at an age 40+ and made same mistake as you (very low VA score and good other sections).
I don't know your background but don't run away. You have to return like ANUPAM. All the best for CAT 2006.
BTW I may also give CAT next year, only to prove myself..

Its ok if u have failed to make through CAT this year. There is always another chance. You dont have any control over what has happened. But do analyse why u could not convert. Compare your scores and profile with those who have got calls. Getting calls if u hav a low score in one section and very high in other sections mite be difficult. U need to hav a decent mix of all the scores. If some1 gets calls inspite of that, hez been lucky and maybe his profile is good...

well for me today has been a dream and the wait for the cat results have been worth it..... getting CLAK no bangalore and cant open indore site...well suprises all round and its clear that IIMB has gone with work-ex ..very few freshers seem2 have got through,but 2 those freshers who got IIMB gr8 work .......as for me im gonna party 2nt and worry abt the gd/pis from tomm

Whew..end of a part of the ordeal that began an year ago when I enrolled for TIME classes I choose not to attend for most part of the year

Post a CAT that left me with little hope....post discussions, arguments and flying tempers on PG..post checking results on IIM sites (sniff....pardon the bromide, I know it sounds cheap..but what the hell :P)

I think anyone with 10+ in quants and Di and 15+ in english has managed to get a call..
Maybe 90%ile for quants and Di is just 7-8, but the IIMs might have given calls to people with obly 93-94+ in each section..

I guess things will be clearer when the score cards come out..

Results are out....my score 0/6.....congratulations to all call getters...

We can start a discussion on scores, scorecards, sectional scores, sectional cutoffs...basically anything and everything to do with the CAT scorecard...

But first let the real scores appear..... the predictions by various institutes notwithstanding....

Hmmmm...Now as the results are out....Can we do a postmortem on the methodology adopted to send out the calls or we shall wait till the scorecards are available.
