Dear Jatin,

BIMTECH gives very less weightage to CAT percentile. GD, PI & Essay are also consider which has greater importance. Apart from that, BIMTECH also gives weightage to your past academic records. So, if any one who has not score well in 150 mins examination (CAT, XAT), does not mean that he is not capable or he should not get his chance to study in Good B School. BIMTECH is 23 years old Institute. We have our know screening method. So, that's why BIMTECH is different from others but each candidate has better academic records.

Dear Jatin,

Please ponder upon the word "expected". Vaibhaw isn't saying that these are/will be the actual cut offs but expected. Please remember that most of the institutes, incl. some like LBS, Fore, etc. even lowered their cut-offs by as much as 10 percentile points because of the fall in the number of MBA aspirants last year. So it is no wonder that Bimtech followed suit. Also, please note that having 60%ile is no guarantee for admission.

If you would have seen the Bimtech admission process, you might be aware that only 20-25% weightage is reserved for the CAT score, while the rest of it is for others like GD, PI, written communication, past academic record. So, in short, Bimtech, unlike other B-schools gives ample opportunity to the managers of tomorrow, even if someone might have had a rainy day at CAT.

In case you still have more apprehensions and doubts, kindly feel free to visit Bimtech.


p.s. Last I knew was that Bimtech ranked among BBB category, at per TIME's ranking, which is similar to many top-notch institutes like Welingkar !!

Certainly you can apply. CAT percentile has only a certain weightage, so you need to perform well in other stages like GD/PI/essay, etc. There have been cases where people scoring higher in CAT weren't selected while those with lesser score got selected merely due to their performance in the subsequent stages.

It depends that for which course you have applied.
This year since placements are going very nice so cut-off is expected to be increased.
For PGDM-expected cutoff would be 85.
For retail,IB,Insurance-75+.
For SDP-70+.
But this is expected and depends on ongoing placement.
PERCENTAGE of 60% in 10th,12th and graduation will be more taken careof by institute this time.

Well, promoting your institute is a nice gesture but it should be a fair deal. You have to be very candid with your judgment. The career of many aspirants is on stake. The cut off for bimtech noida was 60 percentile for any course and even lower for some others. How can you predict such exaggerated cut offs when deep inside you know that you are not being true. Hi, could I get some info about 2012-14 admissions, for PGDM in Sustainability Devpt Practices.It is still under processing for AICTE approval, would that be a problem? How is the placement opportunities for this particular course?

Hi, i'll be applying for PGDM today .. I am expecting a cat score of 70-80 .. is it good?

I have done my grad from distance education... so till now I dont have any marksheet or certificate, will get a provisional degree in Feb end ... do I need to provide a proof of my degree before Feb-march??

Vaibhav is right there in no OBC management quota in BIMTECH. And BIMTECH uses CAT score to select students. Following parameters are considered for admission process
Personal Interview -30%
Group Discussion - 20%
CAT percentile - 10%
Graduation % - 10%
Higher Secondary %- 10%
Write-up -08%
Misc.-12%
And if we talk about cut off then since BIMTECH provides placements to students then definitely cut off would have been increased compared to year 2009.
