I think you're talking about ques. 21 and 22. 41 is correct as it does not says 41 play only football and basketball. 41 play both football and basketball and since 30 play all the three games therefore, 41-30=11 students play ONLY football and basketball. I hope that solves the doubt.

I never said its gonna be easier.. I cannot compare the two papers frankly coz i haven't given 1318 and I dnt know the scores of others in 1317..

I just compared my score of 1317 with others scores in 1318(and I haven't mentioned my scores also!!).. So data analysis and interpretation was purely wrong....

since I am giving a mock after a break of 6 months, my past experience says, I can score anywhere b/w 70-96 %..So I dnt know how I performed in 1317, until a significant number of ppl post there scores in PG..

It may be easier , it may be tough.. Go ahead with the paper w/o biased opinion...

Il stick with CL, aree what sort of questions are these?? I tried attempting QA which i consider as my forte & out of the many questions i attempted, im unable to do even 1?

Let me be at loss, i dont mind, but the level of questions by time is insane. I have a feeling that my decision was good, ie, not joining time. If this is the level i have to crack to make it into the IIMs then bye bye IIMs as well. Thoroughly demoralised :sneaky:

Had to quit in between, cudnt continue without answering 1 ques in 15 mins, english anyway cant and wont be this hard. Would be able to atleast attempt a few even though it wud be wrong!

what you are doing is just picking 3 numbers from the set of 9 so that their sum is divisible by 3 and leaving the rest alone. But the question asks you to divide the set into groups of 3 such that it meets the given condition.

So we first have 3 groups giving remainders 0,1,2

1. Divide them as it is i.e. all with rem 0 together and so on. So 1 way

2. now choose 1 from group 1 and 1 from group 2 i.e. 9 ways, the one from group 3 is fixed then.
Now choose 1 from the remaining 2 in group 1 and 1 from remaining in group 2. Again 1 from group 3 is fixed.
Finally the remaining numbers from the last set.
so we have 9x4=36 ways.

So total 37 ways. Hope it helps.

Here is how i solved this....

Each of the 9 numbers 1,2,3...9 give remainders 0,1,2...
so we can select 1 out of numbers giving remainder 0...1 out of numbers giving remainder 1...1 out of numbers giving remainder 2

No. of ways = 3C1 X 3C1 X 3C1=27

Another possibilities:
when we select all numbers giving 0 remainder= 1 way
when we select all numbers giving 1 remainder= 1 way
when we select all numbers giving 2 remainder= 1 way

so total possibilities=27+3=30


but the answer given is 37...I tried manually also...getting exactly 30...
Can someone point out where I am going wrong...Thanx in advance..!!

Puys I have a doubt in that Sita Gita question. It is correct that the max no of Red & Green Balls will be given by Sita's table but isn't it also true that min no of Red & Green balls will be given by Gita's table and similarly for the yellow, blue & black colored balls??

@techsurge - i normally find equations a little tricky so i just bank my arithmetical abilities......explaining it wud be rather tuff here, but i will try......
as per alligations....... (96-90)/(100-96) = 6/4.....therefore x = 1.5w
similarly 100-120-144......therefore y = 5x/6 = 1.25w

w:x:y = 4:6:5

4*90 + 6*100 + 5*144 = 360+600+720 = 1680 for 15baskets (4+5+6)

but average is 120, therefore 120*15 = 1800

deficiency to be covered by Z = 1800-1680 = 120
one basket of Z covers 160-120 = 40 kgs deficiency

therefore 120/40 = 3baskets

Almost never expected such good percentile for my score:

Let, there is 'a' number of orange in 'W' basket, 'b' oranges in X, 'c' in Y and 'd' in Z.

Now, then total weight of orange= 90a+100b+144c+160d
Again, total no. of orange=(a+b+c+d)
So, total weight of orange= 120(a+b+c+d)
So, 90a+100b+144c+160d=120(a+b+c+d)
=>30a+20b=24c+40d ---(i)

Again, 90a+100b=96(a+b)
=>6a=4b ---(ii)

Again, 100b+144c=120(b+c)
=>20b=24c ---(iii)

So, 30a=20b=24c
Putting it in (i),
30a+30a=30a+40d
=>30a=40d
=>(a/d)=(4/3) ---(Ans)

but instead bth were wrong. even the rc' ANSWERS are not reasonable. If we analyse this section, then watever we can improve in va, will be brought back to NULL by time. I got 90 and 93 percentile in VA the 2 procs I have written , but here I got 51 percentile. Never in my life have I got that less.

Its correct only.. till..999 its the total is dvsble n den 1000&1001 u add dse digits ..the total is 3 .. n the remainder is 3..

first number is 0 which doesn't counts so

sum of first 1002 whole numbers = 0+ sum of first 10001 natural numbers= sum of first 10001 natural numbers

hence sum them and take their digit sum to get answer

solutions jitna chota method nhi hai par ho gaya tha..
baskets me oranges be w,x,y,z
90w+100X=96(w+x)
x=1.5w
100x+144Y=120(x+y)
y=5x/6=1.25w
90w +100x+ 144y+160z=120(w+x+y+z)
isme x aur y ko 1.5w aur 1.25w put karne par we get 4/3..

contact the TIME centre from where you registered for the test.

With 44 percentile in VA and overall 85 I will get no where.....

Got screwed xD Attempts were less in both the sections although I felt I could have attempted more in QA. Wasted time on DI sets and got them wrong.

Dont know what happened in Quant, couldn't attempt as much I had wanted to.The calculation intensive questions meant I missed out on a sitter in the end.By the time I read the rectangle length-breadth wala question, and knew it could be done,time up! :/

Section II : 59 (25A/21C)

Overall : 92 :/

Section 1: 93.48
Section 2: 99.95(AIR 7 )
OA : 99.67 (AIR 50)

Overall Marks =>59 (32 in Quant and 27 in VA)
Percentile => 91.29
In 1318 score was 88 and the percentile was same :P

Need help desperately to improve accuracy in VA.......please anybody!

felt paper to be on the tougher side.Was not able to solve any ques from QA/DI for the first few minutes.And VA as usual is still a nightmare for me.but still will fight till it is conquered.
