the solution given by time is pretty gud. however here are a couple of steps from my method
sum=1+4/5+9/25...
sum/5=1/5+4/25+9/125......
4sum/5=1+3/5+5/25
next break it into 2- 1and part 2-x

x=3/5+5/25+7/125...
x/5=3/25+5/125..
4x/5=3/5+2/25+2/125...
by infinite sum of ap=x=7/8
replace above then-sum= (7/8+1)*5/4
=75/32

AS SITA CAN TELL RED AND GREEN CORRECTLY THEN NUMBER OF RED BALLS IN TUB 3 SHOULD BE 1, AS IT CAN'T BE BIGGER THAN THAT, AND IT CAN'T BE ZERO.

NOW GITA STATES THAT NUMBER OF RED BALLS IN TUB 3 SHOULD BE 2
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE
AS GITA SOMETIMES COUNTS RED AND GREEN BALLS AS BLACK, BLUE AND YELLOW BALLS
SO THE VALUE IT TELLS SHOULD BE LESS OR EQUAL TO THE ACTUAL VALUE, BUT NOT GREATER THEN ACTUAL VALUE

i just want to know if my reasoning is correct or incorrect

what you are you saying is correct...i dnt thnk it is posble for Sita to count 11 black balls while Sita identies them as 6..
and the no. of red balls wud minimum b 5 only..so two of the statements shud b false in question 19..

I had some queries about these mock cats, I've given 2 already, and my performance is abysmal, to say the least (around 60/180). I had a few questions I needed to get off my chest, any advice would be appreciated
1) How relevant are these MOCK CAT's? Many of my seniors told me that it doesn't give you the big picture, and it might unfairly discourage you etc.
2) What score does one need to get in such tests to expect a call from say IIM A,B,C..I know it isn't the actual thing, but suppose this was the real CAT, then at what score would you get a good percentile? I tried searching all over the net, but couldn't find a definitive answer
3) And is the marking scheme of the CAT 2011 different from that of these Mocks? Reason I ask is that CAT 2011 gave an overall score of 225, whereas these mocks give out of 180

the solution given by TIME seems wrong to me reason being that they have multiplied the sum i.e. (64+63+62+.......+1) by 2 which should not be the case as there are going to be rectangles with same length and breadth ( i.e square) for which there would exist only one case and not 2 cases as the question asks for DISTINCT rectangles.

rather the solution should be 2(1+2+3+.....+64)-64= 4096.
correct me if i am wrong.

i was wondering if you would share with us number of questions you attempted and the one you got wrong of them....

in quants...all of DI and eaSY quants ones....in verbal...i left one set of LR, the one with school comptt. and two rc ques, attempted all else.....so in quants its 13c 1wr and in verbal its 22 correct and 3 wrng...
