with just 33 in QA (9 W's out of 23 attempts, first tym sumthing like this has happened to me) i'm half expecting time to change a few solns, :(.

yes, there were a fu fone calls i had to receive during the test, but this is just woeful

Its the 4th option 21 I guess. It is the only option for which the values of a & b are acceptable.
Caution: 'a' needn't be divisible by 'b'

99 looks a decent score to me..it wasn't easy..questions were lengthy..i found QA tougher than 1316.... my QA scores dropped from 62 to 39

I found it a bit easier than 1316 may be because I did not close the test window and analyzed the unattempted ones and was unhappy at missing those. For the last 5 min I just flipped between the DI and probability set with zero attempt

Critical reasoning makes a comeback but it was the RCs that made me sweat Pretty inferential but closest to my CAT slot except that the questions asked were not as tough .

QA had some tricky ones so felt the pinch of the clock, must have made some errors under the time constraint. Aim to improve accuracy in the nxt one.
The surprise was the CR questions but u never know what CAT might throw at us this time, so good to see TIME covering all possible areas.

we have 1st taken a nd b in decimal system
as
a*21+b*1 , here we take a nd b in decimal sytem nd calculate the ratio

i guess they have made a mistake while framing the question, seeing the question i thout it was a free pie then i realised that it was like an oasis in a desert(wasted a lot of time by going near to answer which is not there)

same here... i tried with hexadecimal octal n everything but still cant get the solution... when i take base 4 or 6, i dont remember which one then i do get a=13b .... but tried all single digit values still no ans

To all my peers, who scored real bad this AIMCAT, I have written two CAT exams before this. 2012 will be my third attempt. I do think this was an easier, but longer exam when compared to CAT, in terms of QA DI, but definitely a nut-cracker, ball squeezer in case of VA.
If you did well, good for you, let not the success get to your head. If you did bad, even then, GOOD for you, because nothing will definitely get to your head.
As most people say, take AIMCATS with a pinch of salt. All depends on D-Day. Nevertheless, whats important is not the exam or the score, but the analysis that follows. Else, all this is as worthless as an empty shell of groundnut.
So all the best for the next one. Cheer up.

Imagine each part in 3d...
outer spherical surface is 4pie r^2/8.
The inner part has 3 surfaces which are all equal to 1/4 * pie*r^2=3/4 of that.

so take total surface area of one such sphere=5/4 pie r2. this is same for all.
and since surface area is same for all muliply the total area with cost for all(1+2+3+4+5+6+7)=28
=11000

true..totally agree with that..here the trick was selecting the right questions..lots of speed breakers and weird questions..even i missed the probability set..got stuck in too many questions and yes DI was easy

DI-probability set was trciky couldn't attempt that.
Rest DI was cake walk..hopefully made them right.
Quant was LEngthy very lengthy and tough because some questions cannot be touched.
I got a okish score may be due to DI and first few questions.
My last 2 exp in cat says, you wont get a single question in sec 1 which cant be attempted. but this was one paper opposite to that

Please suggest a book for Verbal ability where proper solutions of jumbled sentences and other problems are given. I have a poor accuracy rate in VA and mostly two options seem to be identical.
any guidance for this ?

usually quant wil me a almost same level ,or a bit lower but va definetly it was tougher compared to cat norms

Can we ever expect CAT exam to be this long? I mean most of the problems here were long, very long. Both VA and QA. Usually CAT would have a mix right? Just a query.
