Hi all, This is regarding the query about Dual-Country Program in IMT-G. I have come to know from my friend in DCP 2011-13 batch, that their senior's placements havn't been that good because many good companies have refrained from opening the sign-ups for DCP batch. This is because of several reasons like DCP being a new batch and declared cut-off for which was around 70%ile. However, actual ones are even lower. @seniors: kindly throw some light on this. I have been offered DCP with a %ile of 97.28. last year also I was offered the same course with a %ile of 88.13 but I didn't join. I dont want to join DCP so, How can I get the flagship PGDM-FT at IMT-G?

Guys, Sorry for the delay, but just took my last exam of the first year today, so was a bit busy this last week.
Anyway coming to the queries; I have received over 100 PM's....Since its not practically possible to answer each query....I'll try and cover most of them here.

1) Placements: The placements of our senior batch(2010-2012) are going on. Those who have got placed, have got profiles of Business Analyst, Risk Analyst, Consulting profiles and the likes.....The packages have gone up to 13 lakhs and I'd say the average is upwards of 8.5 lakhs INR, though official figures are yet to be out. YES, THE PLACEMENT PROCESS IS ABSOLUTELY IN SYNC WITH THE IMTG-PGDM REGULAR STUDENTS, no separate process. Companies where students have been placed: Samsung, Deloitte, SBI Capital Markets, Nomura Holdings, HSBC and HDFC etc...

2) COURSE DETAILS: Its completely a General PGDM. Unlike other courses at IMT-G where you are branded with a particular branch right at the begining of your MBA, here you get the whole of the year to analyse your strengths and weaknesses and accordingly take a call on your specialization at the end of the first year. Trust me, this is one of the biggest advantages of this course. Only after studying all the subjects are you able to make up your mind. I myself had planned on doing PGDM in Finance and Marketing. I'm now doing it in HR and Marketing.
The only reason our seniors have been able to bag such high packages is because the Academic Rigour and Skill-set building of this course is exactly the same as IMT-Ghaziabad, and the best part is, THE RECRUITERS REALISE THAT.

3)Fee Structure: The fee structure is around 9.5 Lakh INR for the Dubai stint, and around 5.5 Lakhs for the India stint. Total around 15 Lakhs.

4) Choice of Electives: The choices provided for 2nd year are: Finance, Marketing, HR and IT. As of now, OPERATIONS and IB are minors, though we are in talks with the authorities to change this.

5) Life in Dubai: A truly memorable experience. You have to be here to understand this, but its a process that starts from the time you land till the moment you take off. An Academic journey that's interspersed with lots of practical learning on the way.

i have talked to both imt office and a last yr passout,and both hav said that dcp is surely eligible for upgradation...u just hav to wait for their mail..nothing else u can do....

made a blunder in declaring dcp as my 2nd choice.
what is the scope now for my upgration to PGDM(FT) or PGDM(Finance)?
I guess payment of 50k is required to keep myself in the race.

Finally I want to know what are the prospects of DCP. Accurate details of the placement scenario currently..

Why 49 students are still unplaced out of 104.Please elaborate.No offence to anyone.

1. Provisional call indicates that you have converted it and your admission will be confirmed once you pay the fees. "Provisional" indicates that your call will hold true only if you fulfil all criteria and are able to submit the marksheets and degree of graduation before the due date. So...congrats, u have converted the call.

2. 2 years fees is 16 lakhs rs. 3.25 instalments of around 3 lakhs each to be paid in first year. 3 instalments of around 2 lakhs each to be paid in 2nd year.

3. Our seniors had got only HR, Marketing and Finance majors. IT, Operations and IB are only Minors. We also have been offered the same. But that changes; depending upon the availability of faculty and all such factors).

4. The internships and placcements are not on the basis of percentiles. IN any B-school, ur percentile counts only till you get thru. Then its ur cgpa that matters. So is true for IMT-G-DCP.

5. Admission process: Will have to check and confirm. Our process was a lot different from yours. So as of now cannot advice on anything related to that.

Guys, the main problem is that I dont find many people writing gramatically correct sentences in this thread, which includes those who got admit and enquiring about the course or those who are already in and currently part of the program. So, it doesn't give me a very positive approach to the course. I feel like this course is available to all those who have a decent score of 80+ percentile and those filthy rich people who's ready to shed out money. I have 92 percentile and have been offered DCP program. I really can't rely on anyone to enquire about the course. Any comments?

what about availability easyness and money limitation of loan, will mortgages will be required and above what limit it will be required seniors please guide as If you have any Idea or information on basis of loan availability of your own batch

1.The batch size was =95
2.Number of students keep himself out of placement =10 (reason unknown to me)
3.Total number of placement placed till now = 35 (including companies like delloite, HCL )
4. Number of students Unplaced or rightly said did'nt accepted any suitable job offer = 50 they are still in placement procedure

all the information I got from a PGDM marketing student and he did'nt gave me

Seniors can you guide us what will be the fees for IMT pgdm DCP program for year 2012-2014 fees which are confirmed from admission cell. there are lot of speculation on PG regarding pgdm DCP fees. A data from seniors probably end the speculations regarding fees.
As per prospectus the fees for DCP program first year fees at IMT dubai 77500 AED= 1070000 Rs approx( 1 AED= 13.795 INR ) + fees for second year at IMT ghazabad = 607000 Rs so total fees for 2 years is 1677000 Rs which is too much for program like PGDM DCP @ IMT G. will central bank provide that much of loan.

Yeah, if you have the desired percentile and percentages in 10th-12th n grad....n if u have given a gud gd/pi and if there is availability of seats, u can be upgraded.

Hi, You may be offered the seat depending upon the availability of seats.
Shifting of waitlist. It will take time though. The process goes on till mid june. So keep your fingrs crossed.

I guess your 2 years gap has worked against you but based on ur percentile, u may be upgraded depending upon the availability of seats. Last year thec cutoff was 94.xx so u do stand a chance.
Yeah, u have to submit the fees to stand the chance of upgradation.

Hi,

It depends on what is mentioned on the website. If it is specifically mentioned that last date for payment of 50000 Rs. is april 2nd, then you will be having time for the rest. If not then the date holds true for all the 3. and not paying the fees would result in complete cancellation of ur application.

Mostly it has to be the latter case as after this date the waitlisted candidates will be given a call and they have to be offered all the subjects. So decide accordingly.

I have concerns regarding fees and placement scenario and the student distribution graph(work ex).

To all the would be MBA 2012-14 batch and asking for placement scenario and about college quality on a public forum , you would never get a true picture of things from any college , be it the top IIM's to any other B school on such a forum . The reason is simple. There are corporate communication teams formed in most colleges which handle media relations as well as PR activities which include social media . One of the objectives is ofcourse to be a bridge between the adminstration and the prospective students , so that students queries are addressed in a timely manner . But think about it yourself when you ask for a "true" picture and all , it would be almost next to impossible for them to state anything but the best on public forum , after all its a matter of brand . For such an opinion its best to personally contact friends or friends of friends in the colleges you aspire to go . Contacts made from public forums would in most cases paint a rosy picture unless ofcourse that person is a personal friend

Well the cut off isnt really fixed, the initial cut off maybe high but due to the large number of seats in IMT-G the cutoff gradually decreases over the course of the admission proces.. I'd say with a score of 85%ile you can rest assuered. Cheers!!

See, as of now the placements for the first batch ( 2010-2012) are going on, though I can tell you that most of my seniors have managed to get placed with very good companies at great profiles. For exact details, pls PM me. The placement process is expected to continue for another month and we are confident of having 100% placements by then. Please understand that since we are talking about IMT-Ghaziabad here, none of the low paying companies visit the campus. So all the placements have been in companies and with packages that you would consider at par with a top 10 B-school.

So, Rest assured on that count.

Coming to the specializations part. The biggest USP of the DCP program is the fact that its a general PGDM. Implying, that you study the common subjects in the first year and in the second year you can specialize in any stream of your choice.
Eg: Finance+Marketing, IT +IB, fINANCE +IT.....anythng.

DCP is just the name of the program and it just means that here you are a part of a program in which you spend your first year in Dubai and second year in Ghaziabad.

Well, once you have filled the admission formm. You just wait, if you get shortlisted, you well get intimation regarding your interview and Gd venue and date etc....So, just wait and watch.

Hi,

The online application form was jst the frst part of d process. Now u vil hav to appear fr the Gd/PI process. Last year an online interview was conducted instead of GD/PI but students wer also called fr a PI and the best of Online interview/PI scores were considered for the further selection process.

I scored 89.99 percentile in XAT and got a score of 710 (92 percentile) in GMAT. So what are my chances at IMT ghaziabad with these scores?

well thanx for the quick reply...but i was wondering cuz this time the options for DCP course is given only to the ones above 90 unlike previous year,,.as far as i know..i did not even have any such option in my form..

See, the DCP is an integral part of the IMT-G program...so cut-offs r bound to be higher than other IMT programs....but the real selection starts after the interview stage is over and applicannts are being evaluated. Last year also the cut off after the first stage was somewhere around 91%ile for DCP. But many of my batchmates got an option in June: Those who had converted IMT-Nagpur were given an option to choose either of the two-DCP or Nagpur. And many chose DCP over Nagpur and came here. So dont get disheartened by the first stage of results....Keep ur fingers crossed!!

last year at 72 i got call from DCP along with Nag/Hyd, even converted DCP but did not join.
but this yr at 81 got int call only for Nag/hyd campus.. dint attend.. guess DCP cut-off they re keeping higher

With 85%ile you can get into DCP, assuming ur interview went well. You are fine on the cut-off front.

With 85%ile you can get into DCP, assuming ur interview went well. You are fine on the cut-off front.
