Just a comparison between a guy who scored 98 in each section (P1) and a guy who scored 90 in each section (P2)..(75 across sectional is mandatory to get shortlisted for OBC.)
P1 score out of 50..: 46 (provided min percentile considered as 75..if it is considered as 0 then it actually boils down to percentile)
P2 score out of 50..: 30 (provided min percentile considered as 75..if it is considered as 0 then it actually boils down to percentile)
That is 16 marks out of 50 difference between the two already before going in to WAT/PII think a high percentiler has a very high chance of converting:banghead::banghead:..Am I right??????? (Correct me if am wrong)

Answer to doubt number 1 :
Obviously the person having a high percentile has a high chance of converting. Otherwise, what is the use of having a high percentile?
If minimum percentile is considered as 75, the calculations you have done seems correct, but I have seen a lot many guys who weren't able to convert call at 99 percentile. So you never know.
Plus the admissions department never shares with us the actual calculations they do, so we can't say for surety if its done that way.
Don't worry, if your WAT/PI was good, high chances that you will convert.

Answer to doubt no.2 :
It varies from person to person. I am a nocturnal creature and am usually awake in the night.
Our internships are going on, so we have a lot of time as compared to the time when we are at campus.
At campus, there are some creatures who struggle to find a sleeping time of 4 hours, but there are always some lazy persons who no matter what sleep for 8-10 hours..:cheers:

50% weightage is just for the CAT score(percentile). Academics was just used for shortlisting for the WAT/PI rounds. The link on the website provides the necessary formulas for calculating the total score-
50% CAT (30% Verbal, 20% Quant weightage wise)
Remaining 50% for WAT/PI.
So it entirely depends on how you performed in your WAT/PI as you can't do anything about your CAT score in this case.

Its good that you are discussing the criteria so that it will help the current batch as well as the next years batch, but mind you this is not the way to talk to your seniors. The person whom you are asking to keep off the discussion belongs to our batch and you must show respect towards your seniors (on this thread). :|

i have appeared iim indore interview. i have one query regarding the calculation of final selection score. in the criteria it is mentioned that 50 percent weightge will be given to cat score 15 for wat and 35 for interview. now my query is 50 percent cat weightage includes academics also or just cat performance... i mean will they use composit score arrived at the time of shortlisting or only cat performnce. my next query is if only cat score will be used then will it be taken as normalised score among shortlisted cndidates or as a percentage of score out of total 450 mrks? ( i am asking this because while shortlisting the cat score ws normlised for each section by formulae ( candidte percentile- min percentile ) divided by ( max percentile - min percentile) among candidtaes eligible for shortlisting.... do anybody know what was done last year?

This can't be predicted as it is relative and entirely depends on your score as compared to the rest plus the profile of yours with respect to others.

I never said that. Results will be on or after 10th May. It can be after 15th may 2012 as well.

yar its easier if we study it other wway i think...... coz its difficult to analyse how many ppl have common calls with iimi bcoz of a very diffrent shortlisting procedure........ then we dont know how many of them are actually selected at ABCL XL FMS ....... WE can see that call ratio is one is to 7 for iimi....... now before interviews of april (iimi) rslts of ABCL were out so few cndidates didnt appear for iimi interview ... also some ppl who gave I interview in march will not join coz they have converted ABCl xl fms now .. that makes call ratio nearly 1 is to 3 considering nearly half of ppl who convert iimi wud have converted one btr college... so i think its 1 is to 3 fight....may be 3.5

Yep..got it.....so it ultimately means the percentile we got and not the score out of 450 (as other IIMs do)..strange...............:nono::nono:

I don't think this will be a problem as in my batch many people didn't had certificates attested, i myself self attested certificates .. they accepted it.. don't worry.. all depends on 15-20 interview... this i have learned after my reject from L and C and converts IIT D and waitlist B.

It needs to be verified as the college later releases a report on the batch diversity when you people join (freshers:work ex ratio and other things) the college.
This information is also shared with the companies/recruiters for profiling of the whole batch of participants and in deciding the criteria for laterals during your final placement.

As far as i know, you can send them through post later. Just take the unattested photocopies if you are not able to get it attested before the interview.

Everyone of you have equal chances of converting the call, doesn't matter if the interview was a stress one or not. In fact, note that if the interview was a stress one, then answering only a few questions may give you a ticket to Planet-I (general trend).

Many of mah frnds also agree to the above statement..

I dont think signing any undertaking was necessary at this stage. If you make it to IIMI and decide to join, you would then have to sign one.

If you are bringing work-ex certificate, then yes its photocopy needs to be attested. However, you are bringing salary slips which are mostly computer generated, then bring it as it is.
(However do attest the photocopy of the joining letter of the company you are working in)
