5/6 calls to the old IIM's PGP programs... Those below 99.6 should start a new term like Club Eye (KLABI) rather than a Black Eye... Thank god, my past helped me..
CAT - 99.37

VA - 98.12
Xth - 92.7 (CBSE)
XIIth - 89.3 (CBSE)
Graduation - 8.41 (IIT)

Even though this might not resonate with the feeling in this thread, but I am disappointed (though a frnd told this to me before that I won't get C when he heard my CAT score on d day of results) to have not got a call from C. Having shown excellence through out life can be a criteria to judge somebody. Even though I agree performance in the exam which is administered by IIMs should be a criteria, but it cannot be the sole criteria because this is not like Medical or Engineering entrance exams where luck cannot play a big factor. Here, luck does play a big factor and to compensate for that randomness, and to judge an individual as a whole, one needs to resort to checking academic and professional scores.
Someone in this thread rightly pointed out that there is too much competition. The system does not give you chances to rectify historical mistakes.
But then again, in a country where 2 lac students sit for a exam like CAT, the admissions committee has no other choice but to resort to objective measures to judge overall performance. They want to be as close to the international model by trying to judge performance throughout your life, checking your professional experience, and diversity (all international institutes do want that - so I totally agree with what some of the IIMs are doing, even though I am a male engineer myself). Being subjective by evaluating profiles can be done by institutes like SP Jain where only a proportion of the CAT takers apply, but IIMs do not have that liberty coz it is not feasible.
