The criteria mentioned by me was for IIT Delhi, for the MBA FT program only. Other IITs and other courses might have different criteria for lower cutoffs.

Expected cutoffs?

Plz help me seniors..
My grad % according to our guj uni are 62.17%..(they consider last 3 sem marks for calculating the %)..bt if v calculate total 8 sem aggregate its 57.35%..
Moreover..our uni has a rule that if some one hv atkt in last 3 sem they r given pass class only..and i had one atkt in 6th sem wich i hv cleared n m scoring 62.17%..bt mah degree certi is showing pass class..so plz tell me..am i eligible or nt..

Yes there is a percentage criteria. But If you have 64.2 % in B.Tech, then there's no problem. The criteria is:
Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the above mentioned degree programmes essential for admission.
There is a relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. min. 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 6.25) for SC/ST candidates and as per Institute norms for PH category.

Hi,

Last year the JMET cut-off for general category was close to 88-90 out of 120 marks. The Last convert's JMET rank was close to 450 odd, for the general category. I hope it helped. Please ask if you have any other specific question in mind.

Just a small correction....Last convert for gen category was JMET rank 549....and it was probably the last rank to be called for GD/PI (not sure though...may be 549 or 589 was the last rank) to be called...so GD/PI plays the most imp role in your selection, though other factors are given due weightage...

Yes you are eligilble, subject to your submission of a certificate from your department head, stating clearly that your percentage of marks is 59.60%. (i.e., greater than 55%). All the best.

Yes you are eligible, but you have to duly get a certificate from your department head stating that the percentage marks you have fetched is 60.99% (i.e., greater than 60%).

which means you are not eligible, until and unless your college has a percentage conversion system, which states that the percentage of marks you have got is greater than 60%. Please go through DMS for details.

A day at IITD, hmm...
Well, Good question. Our day usually starts with the first class at 8 or 9 or 10 depending upon the time table. And we usually wake up 10-15 minutes before the start of class (exceptions are always there :biggrin:). Some characteristics to identify a DMSite:
1) Running between classes for lunch or a sip of coffee with friends
2) going to katwariya sarai/ jia sarai after classes for an unhealthy snack
3) birthday parties at the very happening saket/ connaught place/ other 100 places in and around Hauz Khas
Our classes end around 5 or 6 pm and we reach our hostels aaram se. Then comes the peak time. During the 5 hours between 8 pm and 1 am a DMSite, finshes his/ her assignments/ projects works/ competition deadlines/ dinner/ minor or major preparations etc. Duly takes out time to provide birthday bumps to the most distant of friends, goes for post study paranthas @ night canteen, chats on facebook/orkut/twitter/gtalk/skype, bakar @ some1else's room, political debates, music, crush related debates, btalk, gtalk and other such things. And at 1 am (when internet's off) either goes to ex-hall for an extended internet session, or to a frnds room for an extended bakar session, or someplace else for an extended night out. Researches have proved that there is no fixed time when a DMSite sleeps (reference: www.youactuallythoughtiwasgoingtoprovideareference.com). :):)

Yes good percentages always help, but if you are convincing enough, there is no reason why you wouldn't be considered. Besides, for a person with 4+ years of work ex, acads would not be the prime determining factor in the interview. Highlight your strengths and job roles wherein you have shown out of the box thinking or taken genuine initiatives.

To add another perspective on fees, the difference in fees between two bschools comes through government subsidies. Therefore it can be inferred that SJMSOM is probably lesser subsidized by the govt..

Once again, views are purely personal and they cannot be used in an argument in any court of law

This is absolutely brilliant pulkit and i can't thank you enough...one more question..when the MBA pragrammes at IIT Bombay and Delhi are almost at par(placemnet wise,brand wise,location wise...)why is there such disparity in the fees.IIT B is charging around 9k for the 2 year course(although they may have hiked it this year..i am not certain about that)
And also if the hike is sudden then IIT D fees could also soar(this is not a question just a opinion:P)

I had the same doubt last year and as I got it from a senior at IIT Bombay, they charge an extra sum (close to 1 lakh per semester) towards miscellaneous expenses, though the contribution towards which it goes is not clear to me. You can ask any senior at IIT Bombay to know the answer.
As Pulkit said, DMS is expected to have a hike in the fees this year, but any comments as to how much and why, we have little knowledge at this stage.

I am a first year student at DMS IIT Delhi and an irregularly regular member of PG

Here is some information regarding admissions and cutoffs this year (views are extremely personal!!)

DMS IIT D usually calls 450 people in the general category for their GDPI.
So the cutoff this year will most prpobably be decided by the top 450 people who apply. Now this could be 98,97 or lower depending upon the applicant's scores.

The forms are not out yet, so relax and concentrate on the remaining written exams..the season is not yet over :-(. Previously the applications were invited only after the JMET result, and I see no reason they should come out before CAT result this time. However, this thread will ensure that you dont miss any deadline...thats the idea (right nishant?)

The total fees for the batch of 2011-13 is approximately 1.30 lakhs excluding hostel fees. When including hostel, it comes to around 2 lakhs as Nishant said earlier. A fee revision is expected this year, however, the hike will not be very steep.

Yaa, you got that right mostly. Except that the Maximum number of seats is 120. But DMS has a lower cutoff beyond which it doesn't expand the waitlists.

2) Expected Cutoffs - There have been a lot of queries in this regards. I am as clueless as you on this. Though I can list down a few factors which might help you decide the same.
a) DMS has a very small batch size
