Has anyone got a mail from KJS saying "Corrected Date for Provisionally Waitlisted Candidate of PGDM(IB) Batch 2011-13.Sorry for Inconvenience caused to you "....??

On the site they are saying "Second waitlisted candidates should not report on 12th". But i guess i am in first waitlist.. !!!

How you guys know that you are on second wait list..?? Does it appear as "second wait list no. X" ..?? For me its showing "Wait list no.5"Wit means i should be in first wait list...!!!

Avg salary and median salary of both PG & Pg-Ib is between 7-7.5
highest salary: pgdm :11 lacs, pgdm-ib :16 lacs( international placement)

yes..all pg and pg-ib students sit together for all companies ..companies offering Ib profiles do come ..but they are open for both pg & pg ib...in my batch both pgdm and pgdm ib students have got international profiles

yes Pgdm Marketing students got nice profiles and were placed in very good companies,.. few of them have got international business profiles too..
profiles include business analyst, functional consultants,research manager, business analyst wealth management sales manager.. to name a few

Oh dats gud news.. i read somewhere most profiles offered were of mgmt. trainee.. dats why i was a lil apprehensive.

Yes. People have got it. But you should also perform equally well like any other guy who gets it!

Nobody will give you a 10L package just because you have a PGDM or PGDM(IB) degree!

This year an IB senior got 12.5L package!

So it is up to you to prove your worth!

Congrats for converting the IB call.

In my opinion,

1. First of all, decide whether you want to do an MBA this year. In my opinion if you want to do an MBA this year desperately, go for PGDM(IB).
K.J.Somaiya is one of the Top 20 B-Schools in India.

2. Else, if you can wait for another year, try to crack CAT and go ONLY to IIM's, XLRI, FMS or ISB. At around 4-5 years of experience, i would recommend an MBA only from these kind of ivy league colleges.

I am in 2nd WL-96 in PGDM(IB). Do I also need to go to the institute on 12th May with DD and other documents? Or only the 1st WL people will be going there and 2nd WL people will be notified later as per the requirements?

Seniors kindly reply so that I can make necessary arrangements.

Can anyone please explain what this is:
1) Is it the migration certificate ?

2) Is it also required for people who have already passed their degrees/BE ?

P.S I called up Ad-com.They said it is required as a proof for Birth-certificate.So,even your 10th Mark-Sheet would solve the purpose.I am clueless how College leaving & Birth-certificate are related ?

When u join the school u're supposed to submit ur birth certificate there.. And they wont return it back.. So when u leave the school a 'TC' or transfer certificate is what u get.. So from then on the TC acts as a proof or a substitute for ur birth certificate..

P.S-> Might be diff for other states or schools.. Jus quoting the procedure followed from where i am..

If anybody knows any managers / contact persons for education loans in Chennai or Bangalore (regardless of whether KJ Somaiya has or does not have a tie up) please share the information here. Ths is for the benefit of all the aspirants who have to get their loan sanctioned by 9th May.If sharing numbers is against the rules could you please PM me these details. I am myself running around but not sure whether I will be able to arrange a loan within two weeks.Guys , please share any details of persons who may be able to process the loans quickly and also the bank which has the lowest interest rates. If the college is included in a scholar loan it will be of help to all selected. Can seniors from admissions team please help us with this info?RegardsManu

The selected candidates have to pay and confirm by 9th and the WL have to go on 1/12..this is the process every yr...

yar profiles vary evry yr from company to company..Banks/IT/Consulting companies hire freshers and the pay is decent..

As clarified by JUGADU, since the placement process is common for both PGDM and PGDM-IB, and since the same profiles are offered to students of both the courses,the highest and the lowest packages are the same for both PGDM and PGDM-IB. Salary wise, no distinction is made by companies on the basis of PGDM aNd PGDM-IB.

1 concern. I had come across a few posts by SIMSR seniors where they informed the other PUYs about placements at SIMSR to be as high as 14 lakhs but at the interviews the highest figure mentioned was of 10 Lakhs. Could you kindly confirm the actual figures? Also how is SIMSR for marketing?
Can I choose some electives of marketing while choosing HR as specialization?

A humble request to everybody..pls get your facts right before posting anything over here cos it can create a lot of confusion.
Abt the query, well the 14LPA you are talking about, in the concerned post it was very clearly mentioned that 14 LPA was offered to 2 ppl from Retail Management course and not PGDM or PGDM-IB. And tht 14LPA was for posting in Dubai. PGDM and PGDM-IB have a common placement process and the figures shown to you all in the video at the time of the GD/PI are the actual figures.
Abt SIMSR for marketing..SIMSR is renowned for Marketing.
The electives thing will be better clarified by Joy or some other senior from PGDM.

regarding summer placements....its 100% every year..even in the worst of time (2009) it went 100%...

yes..for students wd more than 2 years of work ex...Cos give different pay..they are eligible for lateral placement..cos. like Infy, Deloitte, accenture tc,,they change ur designation profile and CTC..depending on ur work EX

yes advertising profiles are offered to pgdm/pgdm-ib students...to name a few ..Draft FCB, Oligvy & mather visit the campus every year

I just want to know a rough estimate of how many people from PGDM-IB who fall in the bracket of the top 90 people in terms of placements (Packages) and Has IB had a 100% placements for the last 3 batches and what is the highest and lowest in IB last year? For PGDM:
Selected 120
First waitlist 1 180. Report on 11th May at the institute
Second waitlist starts with 181 and it is up to 240


For PGDM-IB:
Selected 60
First waitlist 1- 90. Report on 12th May at the institute. There is a mistake in the emails that was sent to you. They are resending the emails with the correct date
Second waitlist starts with 91 and it is up to 120


On 11th May only the candidates from 1st waitlist need to go.
The people from 2nd waitlist would be intimated over phone and email as and when they are selected.


Last year we had only one wait list for both PGDM(180) and IB(90) and both got Exhausted.


Last year when we were called for PGDM WL till 113 got cleared on D-day(11th/12th is your D day). I was WL 175 and I got the phone call confirming my seat around 25th May. There were calls made outside the WL of 180 for PGDM till Mid June.
