Thanks a ton(for advising me to do research on industry). I heard that finance gives you awesome packages but I wanted to be consultant so I dont think I am behind money. My primary reason to aspire for consultancy is that I want to be in an IT firm. now dont start being sarcastic that there are many jobs over there like water boys. I am not into doing simple jobs.
It is great to hear that you are not after money
the kind of consulting you get in an IT firm differs from company to company.
Consultancy, afaik, is sought after on par with Investment banks owing to the pay, profile and pride. IT consulting is not clubbed with "Consultancy" which these days have come to mean strategic consulting. I didnt know that you were ignorant about this fact and thought you were actually looking for consultancies like Deloitte, KPMG, EnY etc. they pay well. These are the companies typically associated with consulting. That was why i thought you might be behind money. I didnt factor in your ignorance cos i expected at least that much from a NITIE aspirant.
CBC, ABC and others like Infy, Wipro and TCs are the ones being associated with IT Consulting. except in certain cases, the packages they provide range from average to above average.
And asking you to pay was just for fun man

chill.. if vision were to be paid for the number of queries he had answered here, he would ve made a killing by now!
To do consulting in an IT firm, there are also other options. You can get into Infy and get into their 4 month training program for business analysts to learn about IT consulting and pursue a career in that. These are the leads i can give you to research on.
Btw, i can spot certain grammatical/spelling mistakes in your posts. "seating" instead of Sitting, "over ambitious to become..". "real time" does not connote with industry. Correct these errors, general consultancy companies require you to have impeccable speaking and writing skills.
and lastly, dont take anything to heart dude

take things with a pinch of salt. i just hope i saved you three days worth research by the info that i provided in this and the last post. my aim is to help, clarify and demystify your thoughts. there are lots of myths associated with getting an MBA degree. thanks for bringing to light one of those classical ones
