Regarding accomodation for parents in MDP hostel, can any sort of advance booking be done? or is it on the spot, first come first serve basis.
I believe many parents would be accompanying the students and there may be limited availibility of rooms in the MDP hostel.

Even if you dont convert in the First list you should be able to do in the second list. When i meant tail end of the waitlist i was talking about guys above 60+ in OBC and 90+ in open. Its safe you resign.

What is the notice period in ur company. WL 35 is almost a sure shot convert. If not resigning just get ur manager into confidence. tell him that u r waiting for confirmation.

As IIM I has further delayed there results.(The results were expected on monday and now they say Tuesday - hope they come up as they have said).:banghead::banghead:

I think we can expect less movement in the first waitlist as guys would have sent there DD to confirm the admissions in NITIE. I expect those guys who are offered IIM I and paid NITIE fees will opt for the colleges (as per there choices) after the first waitlist of NITIE.

If these guys act quick and withdraw there admissions from NITIE we can expect a considerable movement in the second waitlist. And the movement in the third waitlist will depend upon the movement in the IIM wait list.

I hope and pray they act quickly.

I dont think NITIE is going to fill in there seats fully this time too. A 4th waitlist may do its best to solve the problem of vacant seats. But i really dont know if they are going to have a 4th waitlist.

Till then it going to be like for the guys in the tail end of the wait list.

IIM Rohtak has started sending mails to GD-PI call getters.It seems the GD-PI's will take place around May 20th.
So lets hope the 50 seats in Rohtak helps in a small WL movement in all categories before the 3rd list.

my dd reached office on 7th as per courier,
but no one in office is in a position to confirm if my dd reached safely or not.
from morning iam being asked to call in 30min again 30min , so from 9am to 3:30pm im just missing this elusive guy

7th was a friday ..on weekends office is closed..and office guys take some time to do a data entry for the same..

so thr shud be an additional lead time of a day , from when the courier deleivers it to office.

so call at around tomm afternoon, and they wid be able to give u the status..and also as vivek mentiond they might also be busy with Fello admissions..so they can make u wait for some more time..

1. when can i apply for education loan?
Do i have to pay the first installment and then get it sanctioned by the bank after coming to NITIE.

2. Does the bank sanction loan for all of the following :
a) Course fees : 2 lacs approx.
Hostel fees : 60 k approx.
b) Laptop : 50 k approx.
c) Living expenses : 5k/ month for two years

3. Do i have to buy a laptop before coming to NITIE? If yes, then does the bank sanction a loan for it later like how it does for the course fee?

P.S : I am broke......

U can apply once u have any proof to show tat u hav converted NITIE (offer letter wud suffice)...U wud still have to pay the 1st installment on ur own and then get it reimbursed. Living expenses not included, but u can submit mess bills and get those reimbursed.

Sorry to say this, but seniors won't be in a position to provide you email ids of guys who have got NITIE call or are waitlisted. Not because they do not have this info, but as stated by one of the senior in earlier post, candidate information is given to students council to facilitate the process, but they are not supposed to disclose that info, neither are they supposed to spam mailboxes of candidates with emails.

So my friend, I believe the above option is totally ruled out. Now the only way left is what @iamnarendran suggested. Visit threads of various IIM converts and there request puys to inform their decision to authorities ASAP.

There seems to be not much use of posting in IIM K or other IIM threads. Many have been posting repeatedly in all those threads. Those who get a convert from the IIM's seems to forget about NITIE. I have updated the tracker myself looking into trackers of other IIM. (There was one all IIM Tracker which helped me a lot). I observed that many dont show interest in filling the NITIE tracker as they do for the IIM tracker. Any way many are doing the best with pm and post to get the attention of as many as they can.

B'cos Friend, IIM S has conducted its GD/PI till yesterday i.e 8/5/2010.

I too appreciate Neeraj and Narendran posts but it can be put to action only after all the IIM's come up with their results. I don't think we can do much before 1st WL movement, but yes, after 14th, most of the IIM's and some similar reputated colleges will come up with their 1st Wl movement, propagating WL_tracker could be of some help.

Friends, I don't think less number of WL's would put lot of effect b'cos all the colleges are staring off their session almost at the same time and Since, all other college including IIM's will speed up their process (IIM C, IIM B already started) with buffer calls and telephonic confirmation, it would rather force the aspirants to take their decision fast. I believe till the last WL, things will be in line with the last year trends. Puys, please think about it. I hope it will make sense to you as well.

This is what I feared and was hoping that would not happen. Unfortunately spamming on the IIM threads also doesn't help much coz hardly anyone takes notice. Ones with calls are overjoyed and those in waitlist are: a)worried like us, b) won't be of much help to us anyways.
Seems like waiting is the only thing left. Still I'll try my best advertising the wait-list trackers. Since it's almost time, lets at least wait out the first list. I guess that will give us a good idea of future movements. Seriously, sometimes I feel that a wait-list is worse than a reject. Not only is there this stupid tension, but you have to explain to zillions of ignorant relatives how you are gonna wait for something good, how a 73 W/L has good chances of conversion, how the wait-list movement was around 150 in the past 3 years. Have gotten sick and tired.

Puys IIM n CAT administration is to be blamed for all this ruckus. They goofed up with CAT first then declared the results late n then IIM - I n S not declaring their results. GR8 yar...

PS : IIM z dont have faith in their own exam called CAT

He approached the NITIE authorities with a copy of email sent by IIM-Rohtak, requesting them to do something similar to speed-up the waitlist movement. But unfortunately the NITIE authorities didn't accept the said request :shocked::splat::shocked:and they had couple of arguments from there end which were logical (as informed to me by vivekkahn). So I believe it is not possible to ask NITIE authorities, to change the process.

Now it is our mutual responsibility to ask our fellow puys to inform the NITIE authorities if they want to withdraw the accepted offer.

I would also suggest fellow puys who are waitlisted and already have an IIM convert and don't intend to join NITIE, so send a cover letter to NITIE with their details and signature saying that they already have an IIM convert and they wouldn't take up seat in NITIE and the said seat can be given to next candidate. I am not very sure if it will work, but it is worth an effort.

All waitlisted puys please drive this effort to make sure, none of the seats in NITIE lies vacant.

Well to tell you people the truth it is quite reasonable that AdCom of Students' Council and the Admissions Office of NITIE is kept at a distance. This is what happens in almost all institutions of reputation. And it is not on the hands of the seniors to do such a task. Moreover those poor fellows are extremely busy with their summers and, even if not so, with their regular studies. And even in that, Vivek managed to get our voice through, so hats off man !! (BTW are you a liverpool supporter ???:splat:)
Now as to the problem at hand, I saw that people are still confused about which B-school to go to etc and this will probably increase once IIM-I comes out with its results. It might sound weird but we cannot be selfish and force them to take the decision ahead of when they want to. No matter how much it p****** me off, I have to let them book a seat and then cancel it when they are ready.
So its up to US the wait-listers to do this job, cause its our backside in the firing line here. I request a senior to please upload the list of emails of the candidates who have converted NITIE and then its upto us to send a request about their choice. It would be good to create an account like "nitie.waitlisters@gmail.com" or the like and send each one a mail. And this has to be done by those who have free time. I am ready to do my part as long as you consider the point that I have my final semesters from the 14th (irony). Please keep in mind that we can only request our fellow puys and others. The final decision rests on them.

I always knew the authorities were stubborn. Sorry for what i said before. I never knew vivek did so. Its IIM I results which is going to matter a lot in wait-list movement. So guys with IIM I converts please act fast.(Hope you guys dont have a dilemma which college is better at the last hour). It would be of help to guys like me.

but one thing the seniors can definitely do is send a mail to all those guys to fill in the tracker so that it gives a bit of idea how much exaclty the wait-list will move. It would not be a tough job as the mentors have the mail ids of all those guys called in for the interview.

I have asked the seniors if this is possible almost 3 times on this thread but there seems to be no response. If there are at least ready to share the mail id i can put in an friendly request mail to all to fill in the trackers.

As per my understanding once the session starts NITIE dun take any more intake and the fate of many deserving candidates gets sealed even if seats remain vacant.Now the question is do you think for those unlucky guys their fate depends on the action/inaction of those guys who have already converted other IIM's call and somewhat delay their withdrawal may be coz of some reasons or being lethargic...sorry if i m being rude guys but @Seniors we really need your help regarding this as we know that in NITIE students manage and raise the concerns regarding every bit to the college authorities.I request you to kindly come up with a solution regarding this .
The Solution could be by sending a mail as IIM rohtak is doing to ask the candidates taking their final call for the candidature or secondly as IIM K has provided drop down box to confirm the candidature if interested or not.in respect to that if a drop down box could be provided asking candidates if they want to withdraw their candidature in NITIE.This will speed up the process i guess....rest i would really like to listen to your concerns also .

Seniors, as we know the first waitlist clearance is on 14th may. So we can expect the consecutive clearance on 28th May & 11th june? This is very less compared to last year as it went to 5th waitlist clearance. I think this can be met up by giving buffer calls in the first & second waitlist clearance. Is there any possibility you can suggest the adcom?

This is very less compared to last year as it went to 5th waitlist clearance. I think this can be met up by giving buffer calls in the first & second waitlist clearance. Is there any possibility you can suggest the adcom?

As per my understanding once the session starts NITIE dun take any more intake and the fate of many deserving candidates gets sealed even if seats remain vacant.Now the question is do you think for those unlucky guys their fate depends on the action/inaction of those guys who have already converted other IIM's call and somewhat delay their withdrawal may be coz of some reasons or being lethargic...sorry if i m being rude guys but @Seniors we really need your help regarding this as we know that in NITIE students manage and raise the concerns regarding every bit to the college authorities.I request you to kindly come up with a solution regarding this .
The Solution could be by sending a mail as IIM rohtak is doing to ask the candidates taking their final call for the candidature or secondly as IIM K has provided drop down box to confirm the candidature if interested or not.in respect to that if a drop down box could be provided asking candidates if they want to withdraw their candidature in NITIE.This will speed up the process i guess....rest i would really like to listen to your concerns also .

I dont know how much feasible it is for you guys and how seriously will someone act on this but Seniors our hopes ,our future rely on it ...so its my humble request to kindly take up this concern on behalf of all waitlisted candidates.

I have still not received the admission kit. Have sent the DD on 8th. Do i need to send anything else or we can directly report to the insti on 17? Any soft copy of the offer letter stating the details?

I am expecting to convert nitie and join. I would like to come down to mumbai for paying the fees. Will the NITIE authorties be willing to provide accommodation in MDP hostel for a couple of days ???

IIM Shillong coming out with results on May 12. Can expect some movement on that front too.

Even if Indore results come on 11th (considering a case here , I am not speculating ) it should be possible to inform NITIE by 13th . Please do it ,It is for mutual benefit . Please

I totally agree, IIM-I n K convertees should withdraw without the slightest delay, especially coz in NITIE a delay in cleareance of the Waitlist will lead to seats actually remainin VACANT.

If asked for a personal opinion... I would say that I would have not gone for IMT as brand dilution is a big problem. Wait for NITIE convert, if you get through great, else for a fresher next year will give you better results and opportunities.... Again personal opinion. I left IMT flagship course in 2008 and I don't regret at all
