My first IIM Call....

Last few pages are full of herd following at its best. Someone comes, gives you some arbit caculations based on his understanding, asks you to post and all of you jump in.

Relax people. The calculations are not so simple. The Xth, XIIth, and Graduation weightage is not calculated as directly shown above. There is no clarity how the weightage is calculated by IIM Lucknow for these domains. So speculating on that will be just a waste of time and arriving on incorrect conclusions.

For example, for IIM Bangalore,
"the candidates percentage scores in the 10th
and 12th board exams was initially adjusted by dividing each such score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that board. The database of 10th and 12th scores of all CAT applicants of the past two
years was used for identifying the 90th percentile score for each 10th and 12th board for this purpose."

also everyone's composite score is corresponding to d fact that 35.8 is the most likely cutoff... so i dont see any problem with herd following as such...

Copy all the roll numbers to excel, write a macro that deletes numbers that don't match.

Copy the shortlisted nos to a txt file. Create one for each A,C,L & S. Then use "Beyond compare" software to compare...If you click '=' symbol in GUI it will show the common test ids and the total count

aggregate cat = (total score / 450 ) * 30
class 10 scale to 10... eg 88% = 8.8
class 12 scale to 5 .... eq 88% = 4.4
grad scale to 5 ...same as above
workex .... 9-11 months = 1
12-23 months = 2
24-35 months = 3
36-47 months = 4
48 above = 5

add all above component scores to get final score and post it..

pls do so as this will enable people who havent got a call from iim lucknow to know the reason.

Your CGPA score has to be normalized to the scale of 5. So it's 3.6 and not 7.2. Your total is 35.56 and that's why you didn't get the call.

Seniors, could it be by any chance a call for PGP-ABM? I ask this coz I had ticked it in my form. However, in the shortlist it says "shortlisted candidates for IIM Lucknow PGP".

IIML preferred to take candidates with non engineering background for PGP-ABM program. this trend started from last year onwards...
check admission policy doc for more details..

As I had said, you need 90% in X,XII and grad, and close to 270 in CAT. Thank your stars that you studied for class X. That is what helped you sail past the cut-offs.
