I think accomodating 450 students in a year would be difficult as last year Indore's intaje was less than 300.

Seniors, have enough infrastructure being created .. i mean classes hostels etc.
ALso, wat would be impact of inc in batch size on placements .. which is the most imp query

Planet I has Committees & I Clubs. There are also management and sports events all round the year.:cheers:
Committees include hostel, cultural, mess, placements, academic, finance, media, IT and so on.. you can be a member in the first yr thru elections.
The I clubs are marketing, finance, consulting, entrepreneur and in all co-curricular fields.
There are also theatre and Photography clubs...

Apart from these, there will be events, both intra level and national level.
So u ll find it very interesting and i bet u ll enjoy every single moment of it.

I have got calls from IIMI and IIMK both.

Can any one help me out in deciding which one to chose from both.

My criteria of Chosing would b
1.Placement
2.Academic load


The batch size of IIMI this year would be 450 and for IIMK it would be 300.

AFAIK there would be no extension in joining date on those grounds.. I know things are really different htis time around but I wouldnt think they would extend the date

Our Hostel rooms are of two types: a) Single rooms with common toilets, b) Rooms on twin sharing basis with attached bath. The rooms will be allotted on the basis of lottery. Hostel rooms will have basic facilities such as Cot, Mattress, table, chair, cupboard etc.

the meet on Sunday is an informal one... so it won't be a party or anything like that... just a gathering where you can clear your doubts...
as far as the formal meet is concerned, it will be on 29th of may, this will be attended by the alumni of the college, the present batch and the incoming batch and will be a formal affair. The venues for this are being finalized..

and regarding the invites for the informal meet, i think mayank shree jain will be doing that once he gets a list of your batchmates

1) As all guys are asking that what this Offer Letter No. all about? I mean do we need to wait for hard copy before sending that DD? And typically in how many days, will we be going to receive it?
2) Fee will be around 10L. Now, what are the options available for a candidate to apply for a loan? One, he can take from outside. Second, somebody said that banks will be present in the campus. Do u mean, they will be present there at the time of registration? We may have to submit some bulk amount at the time of registration...right? So, do u mean to say that instantly we can get a loan there n then and handover the money to college?
Am I misinterpreting something?

Though few them are already answered, I'll add few things:
1. I think it should be OK if you wait for the hard copy. A similar issue came up last time. then smbody called up admissions office 2-3 days b4 final deadline and they asked us to send us the form without the no. So i'll suggest wait till 20th and then call themif u still do not get the hard copy.

2. Already Answered earlier.

3. That u'll come to know once u join the institute. Need not worry abt now. AFAIK u will get it once you reach on campus, not b4

4. For us all the rooms were single occupancy. Recently new hostels have come up to accommodate increased batch size. They may be having double occupancy (we are not very sure on this). So if the college is asking you to give option for single or double occupancy then you need to call the office and confirm if there is any fee difference for these.

5. You will get a final joining letter from the college, these would be dispatched after 25th of May. there will not be any acknoledgement before that. You may call and confirm for your letter if it has reached. A formal reciept would be given for this 85k at the time of registration.

So now the questions reframed:
1) As some senior said that it will take 1 to 2 weeks to reach the hard copy home. But, we have only 2 weeks, I suppose. So, does that mean that we have to sent that annexure+DD, leaving blank the "Offer letter No." ..am I right?
2) From the replies, can I assume that I dont need to worry for loan right now. I'll get it at the time of registration and then I can instantly handover the money to college authorities. Or, I have to pay this 85K and rest whatever it will be required at the time of registration from my pocket and then thru loan, I can get a refund of them? Is it so? Because instant loan is difficult, I suppose. Please provide more clarity on this.
3) I am also not much clear for this as well. From reply, I m again assuming that one has to pay the fee from his own, first and then later sometime in the mid of 1st year, he will get an intimation to apply for financial aid? Or, we will get before giving fee?

I have a query related to electives in second year..
After first year,Do they come up with the merit ranks and accordingly you get your electives or everybody gets his/her choice?

most of the electives should be availble.
there was some fin elective which required a minimum GPA in fin-I/ II
dunno if a new rule will be kept in place due to the bigger batch size though

Grades of the first year are taken into account for the electives in the second year. Everyone does NOT get his/her choice.

Please note the following:-

1. Hostels will be single occupancy. Unless, of course, you are in the mood for some intimacy .
2. The entire 10L amount will not have to be paid at one go. You pay the fees in installments as you register for each of the six terms. The first time registration will be requiring an amount greater than one lakh, which is being collected in 2 stages (85K dd which conveys your intention to join IIM Indore) and the remainder, which will be collected in the form of DD during actual registration. You will get loans for the same.

This will be send along with other documents by post (It seems not yet dispatched).
the no. will be like this.... PRCXXX, you can call and find the number by quoting your CAT Reg No and Name.

1. Laptop bulk deal is been done and the communication would be sent to the people who have sent their acceptance letter (i.e. only after 25th May)

2. The joining date for us was 29th June. And I think it should not change much for you people also. For people who have to join for prep course will join 2 weeks before.

3. Loans would also be readily available for all those who want to take it. The loan will not require any collateral (so no necessity for your parents to come down to campus, for any signature or any other formalities specifically)
The fee structure for applying for loan, would be communicated to you by the admissions office (in case u are taking loan outside). But here at campus you do not have to worry abt tht.

However the Letter of Acceptance asks for a "Admission Offer Letter Number". There is nothing of that sort mentioned in the email.

So should we wait for the hardcopies to arrive till we can send the demand draft and annexures or can we get the number from admissions office?

I wud suggest that u complete ur MBA from IMT. Had it been A,B or C then it might have been a case to ponder.
By switching will be wasting ur 1 year which wud be hard 2 defend during campus interviews. Plus also think from the financial point of view.

P.S . Its just a personal opinion.

what incentive would a rejected and dejected person have in posting his/her status here and majority of the ppl who have converted are ppl with < 50 posts.

I tried to get the following information from IIM I admission office but ended in vain..

No.of buffer calls in each category

No.of ppl waitlisted in each category.

The reply was " Wait till June 1st week".

Waiting is killing me...any seniors please help me to get the information.

People are chosen and they are intimated by the PGP Office. Few will need some extra preparation depending on their background.

No one has to register.

The tentative joining date, as stated earlier in this thread, stands at 1st July as of now. If you are required to attend the preparatory classes then you'll have to join at an earlier date, about a week early.

The IT Committee of IIM Indore should surely be working on this(bulk deal) and I guess you'll hear from them soon.

There is no dress code as long as it is decent. You will mainly need full formals during Placements.

You will need formals during presentations depending on the course and the professor's preferences/idiosyncracies.

No formals for day to day class.

distance between class rooms and hostels is manageable.

MUST because - campus is away from the city and cabs are expensive. distance from my hostel (Hostel E) to the IIM Gate is exactly 1.5 kms
