First year will be very hectic my friend and you will loaded with ASSignments, submissions, presentations, quizes etc. But sometimes, you might be lucky and may get some free time. It all will depend on your time management skills and what's high on your priority list.

A small advice to those asking what should their choice be between I and K or some other premier B school -
Of course someone at I would always tell you to prefer I and vice versa...therefore rather than asking the question directly inquire a little about the kind of things that you expect from a b school and based upon the responses you get you may decide which place better suits you...

Laptop config. was preset but we had choice between 2/3 configs and brands. Not sure about this year.
Yes, You can surely bring your own laptop and that will not be a problem.

That won't be an issue. You can have ur own lappy wid ur own config.

In last year's bulk deal we had 2 options to chose from..
One was mainstream (2GB widout graphic card)
and second was gaming (3GB RAM wid graphic card)
One more option of Apple was there wid us
(Not sure abt this year's options)

Will be joining B. Never in my life did I think that I'll get the final admission offer from an institute like IIM Indore and leave it for supposedly a better option. I had an excellent feeling after the Indore interview. The panelists were really very nice and respectable. ATB for the waitlisted puys.

-There is no official "geriatric" club here but if you feel so, dont worry, people will make you feel that you are one of the proud members of the club.

-You just come to "I". You will find couple of LANs running and some 20-25 odd people playing in each LAN. So, CS no issues.

Regarding the fees, its better to pay the required amount by yourselves right now.
you can get it reimbursed by the banks once the loans are finalized.
We did the same last year. State banks of India & Indore will be there in the campus providing loans at the time of first installment payments.

ITCOM will be sending u details about the laptops soon. Our ITcom secy did post about dat on the previous page.

After 2 days and countless cigarettes, i finally made up my mind to join I. Talked with a couple of IIM I alumni and they sure made it sound enticing.

One of the reasons i has to rethink was the avg salary for laterals this year is almost same as my current salary. But i decided to look at it on a long term basis and not be myopic.

The reason i am saying this is because, i read a couple of posts regarding their current salary and if it makes sense to join. I would say yes now. Also, thanks to my discussion i realized there are things, other than the first pay, that 'I' offers. ;)

For the time being just sit back and relax guys there wud be enuf to take tensions of once u r on the Hilock.

As for the laptops. We are in the process of entering into a bulk deal very soon. Probably your admission letters are being dispatched next week around. There would not be an accompanying letter regarding laptop options. It will be intimidated as soon as the deal is finalised. So hang on a bit further before making a call.
