As of now we do not have lateral placements in IMTn. Regarding ur joining the institute, i would say if you have many options available then choose the one that u think would be best for u. We have people with 0-4yrs of work ex in our batch. there are couple with >5yrs of work ex as well. So it all depends on what u think is good 4 u.

Yes you can major in finance. FT doesn't mean marketing. It's a general course where u get to choose ur specialization in the second yr.

Yes the first installment is of 117 500. But as i have mentioned before, u'll be asked to make two drafts whose total would be 117500.
Regarding the rankings at PG.... it's the perception of the students whioch decides the ranking. So if students believe that SIBM Banglore has better potential then they rate it higher and hence it's high on the rankings.

Hi Pushpa,

Ya... the site has been down since 3-4 days but don't worry about the fee structure. you will soon get a letter at ur home giving you all te details. meanwhile you should try and arrange for the first instalment (i think around 1.5 l). if u r planning to take a loan then finalize a bank. i'm sure as soon as people start getting the letters, they will post the relevant details here.
Regarding the CET results, i will say that by the time the process of cet has even started, the sessions for IMTN would have begun. BTW do you fall in the mumabi /maharashtra/ outside state candidate region. your chances of getting to a good college will depend a lot on this. also its better to have a college in ur pocket and then wait for the CET results.
Refund system: A nominal amount (around 1k) will be deducted from ur fees if u happen to cancel ur admission before the start of the session.
Regarding the placements, i would say here people get much better profile in the marketing field. However in two yrs time, as the economy starts picking up, we hope to have better profiles in finance field as well.

The courses Operations and Marketing can be taken as minor specialization except in da case of u getting da seat for PGDM-FT.. The faculty of Operations is good.. However placement top priority of recruiters has always been dat of Marketing graduates here, followed by other major courses lik dat of HR,IT etc..

Hi,

I think the fact thjat you have been selected in IMTn means that the doors of IMTg are closed for you, no matter you pay the fee or not. IMTg has a big waiting list and there would be no need to take students from imtn

Date for acceptance by the candidate (time given should in no case be less than 15 days): 15 April 2009

Comparing B-schools on PG is not allowed. Just visit the threads of individual institutes and judge yourself.
There are 120 seats in finance and FT. There are 60 seats each in HR and IT.
There are no scolarships per se in IMT, but after the first year the toppers are given monetary rewards along with certificates.

The finance stream is pretty good here. We have quite a good number of faculty in this stream. The rest is up to the individual.... how u utilise the learning opportunities that u get.....i suggest u go by ur interest. If u have interest in fin. then go for it rahter than going for some other stream just b'coz its good in a particular institute.
AFA bimtech is concerned, i have no idea about that institute. So cant help u.

If you have got calls from both the institutes then u'll have a single GDPI wherin u'll be alloted the course and college combination based on the options that u fill.
However, if you have been called just for 1 institution then u r not allowed to fill in the options for the other institution.

The only confusion here is for students who have been called for IMTg but not for IMTn. I wud suggest you call up both the institutes and/or mail them.

The gd process takes around 10-15 min. and the PI duration will depend upon the panel. I think there are 2 groups in 1 day. People who have given their gdpi will give u the correct picture. But according to me, the process shudnt take more than 3-4 hrs. (this was the duaration in my case last year)

Good news for all those people in dilemma about the interview rescheduling, it can be done.
Just call them up and give them a valid proof that why you cannot attend the interview and they will reschedule it.

Hi selvaks,

Just to add to what my frnd told u regarding the security...... banks usually ask for a Collateral for loans above 4 lakh. i myself have taken a loan from Central Bank of India at 12.5% interest. As arko mentioned, it varies from bank to bank. so dont worry about the finance. :xmas:

Well.. its a fact.. that the campus is 30-35 kms away frm city.. n da nearest ATM is 15 kms frm here and the ATM's available there are SBI n AXIS as i knw.. but the campus life is great.. going to city isin't dat of prob.. may b we got used to it.. its a lush green campus.. n many B Schools are away frm the city... even IBS and ISB of hyd.. so many others.. IMT N is trying to tie ups but we aren't successful as of yet..

PGDM FT means PGDM Full Time.. der's nothn of jus PGDM.. u wil have either PGDM-Fin, PGDM FT, PGDM-IT, PGDM-HR... PGDM FT is better in da sense.. u can choose ur stream of specialization after one year of da course.. ur both specializations as IMT N offer dual specializations.. in da other courses.. one of da specialization is fixed.. e.g in PGDM Fin u have to take Finance plus any other stream of specialization.. but in FT u have da freedom for both the specialization..

Well.. finance i dnt thnk is any prob.. though i have not taken any loan.. i knw dat banks do give loans.. n i thnk every bank does.. the interest rate will be da same wch they charge for any educational loan.. n it wil differ frm bank to bank.. i dnt thnk they ask anythn for security.. atleast i have not come across any such case.. however it might depend on diff banks.. finance is neva a prob..
