with this profile do i have any chance in any IIM's? i know about the CAT cutoff scores(around 99) but my major dissapointment with CAT-10 was the cutoff criteria for 10th n 12th.. so i ws disheartened even before making a start for CAT-11..

Hey. Dude the only thing you can do is crack the CAT. Get 99.6+ and you'l get a call from IIM C and IIM Ranchi. Screw the others man bacause all other IIMs have ridiculous criteria. Dont get disheartened. I too have a similar profile.

Hey Virat,
I think if you are confident that MHCET went well for you then I guess you should wait for the results. There are many many colleges hare in Maharashtra so your chances of getting into a good college are decent, provided you get a good score in CET. So dont worry and enjoy the wait

I have a serious problem now. I gave CAT 2009 and scored a paltry 92%. Since i was not interested in any college other than top ten, I didn't save the scorecard.Now, SP Jain Dubai has called me for the interview on the basis of my CAT 2009 score + profile. But they need a proof of my score which i don't have. Any pointers from where i can get my CAT 2009 score card?

Hi Everyone,

I'm a CAT'11 aspirant. I was baffled after reading about this year's shortlisting criteria of all the IIMs. So, knowing my profile, I've become a little bit uncertain about my chances of getting into any IIM on the basis of acads only. So can anyone of you tell me if I stand a chance of getting into any of the IIMs with these grades or not. My grades are as follows :

Xth (CBSE) - 86.2%
XII (CBSE) - 88% (Aggregate)
Grad(1st year)-61.1%
I'm in 2nd year at present. Since I'm from Delhi University, Delhi University doesn't grant marks above 65-70 so easily.

Moreover, What exactly is normalization of scores? Discrimination of one board from the other? All i could get from was this when i read all the posts.

I completely fail to understand why are they discriminating SCIENCE graduates from other graduates? We belong in traces too. I don't demand extra points as I believe there should be equality and anyone who deserves should be selected on the basis of merit.

I hope for a change in criteria from next year.

Apart from all this, I'll still be preparing for CAT'11 since IIMs are not the only destination.

Last but not the least, I congratulate everyone whoever got at least 1 IIM call this year.

You will get a call from all the colleges you have applied,only Welingkar is doubtful,
because they gie profile based call.You can also apply to NIASoM,XIME,SPM GANDHINAGAR

This is my third attempt at CAT .... (CAT 2008: 88.48, CAT 2009: 91.72)

No IIM calls.
Only call so far is LBSIM.
Expecting calls from FORE, IMI (maybe, or maybe not coz they are going to consider profiles ) and MDI (again, fingers crossed, reeeaally want a call frm MDI...

I am in a quandary. Should I drop one more year? Or should I just settle for whatever I get thru this year? Please seniors, I need your advice.
