hi Guys, i too got the Welcome Aboard email from GL Gurgaon today and my confusion is at its peak.

I have 32 months of experience in analytics....GL has been talking about promising placements in analytics and ecommerce however i remain paranoid if the sort of growth/push i might get after this course justifies the time and money i spend in the next year...some inputs would definately help!

Considering the fact thet i have an exp of 30 months, do i stand an equal chance of getting placed when compared with a batch where more than 70% of students have an exp of more than 36 months? Are all student eligible for placement for every company?

With multiple queries coming across regarding placement scenario and the number of students placed. I would like to update that the 70% of the students of the graduating batch of 56 are placed as on 20th April 2013.

With many placement processes underway , and few companies about to announce their results, it is expected that the placement process would be completed in a few weeks.

The first set of offers has been made yesterday for students interviewed on 13th/14th. Congratulations to all those who are selected. All of you have quite a few queries a lot of which are common.

Adcom has been answering them both on phone and on PG.

I will try to consolidate and reply here for everyone’s benefit.

1. Faculty & Learning: As you may have seen previous posts or may have already talked to current students, the quality of academics is as good as anywhere in the country with one of the best faculty participating in the program. This was as promised when we joined the program and above all our expectations.

2. Placements: Though the placements started of slowly but they picked up quite well and over 60% of the batch should be placed by end of this week. A few more processes have already taken place and more students are likely to have offers soon. We are now confident that the placements would conclude well with everyone getting placed in good profiles. We have requested the placecom to issue an interim placement report and it is being prepared. Hopefully it would be out in a couple of days. Most of the offers have been in the range of Rs. 8-10 lakhs and as long as your expectation is in line with this, I guess you would be happy. The profiles in almost all cases are on par with the top b-schools. By next year, the placements should be far more streamlined and new sets of recruiters can also be expected.

3. Campus: It may take some time to go to the permanent campus. It will be announced as and when it is finalized. But the current one has its benefits with all the people from the industry and potential recruiters finding it comfortable to visit given the location. AICTE would happen after moving to a permanent campus though it has no impact on placements. The same is the case with ISB and was with Great Lakes Chennai when it was in the city campus.

I guess that should sum up the key things and students can decide based on the expectations and the opportunities they have. I don't for the slightest moment regret my decision to have taken the risk to join the first batch and have had a great learning experience. I guess most of my classmates would also agree.

why dont some guys plan & visit the campus, hostel etc to hav interaction wd seniors & actual scenario.....11-12 lac is huge amount in one year man.....that too after leaving ur job....pressure is alwas there....

10th-76 12th-75 CAT-85.8 work ex-27 months in IT.
1.)Confused weather to join it or not as placement scenerio is not clear and moreover no AICTE approval, which could be a hindrance when it comes to govt jobs.

I've got a call for PI for 1 yr PGPM program for gurgaon campus on 14th April 2013.

Im a bit confused regarding the package expectation as this is the first batch of PGPM in gurgaon. But at the same time being the first batch we will get the advantage of being less in the batch. Can any one put forward their view wrt to placements & package expectation one can expect from 1 yr PGPM @ gurgaon ??
