Just Click Once - Do Community Service while you are Online - 12-10-2004, 12:10 AM

Do your part of Community service by just visiting these sites and clicking on the
"Click Here " button on the sites . Just look at the good work these people do and u can contribute too and show that you care too
:P

Visit http://www.thehungersite.com to give food to the hungry with just a click -- every day and at no cost to you.

HOW IT WORKS

When you click the "Give Free Food" button (once a day per person) at http://www.thehungersite.com, this simple action gives over a cup of fortified food to a hungry person.

It costs you nothing. Funding is paid by site sponsors and food is distributed by two leading nonprofit hunger relief organizations: Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest.

The number of people who click each day determines the amount of food that goes to the hungry, so please forward this message along.

WHY CLICK?

There is enough food in the world for every man, woman and child. Yet an estimated one billion of the world's people live in poverty and face chronic hunger. 24,000 die daily. 75% of them are children under age five.

A "click to give" costs nothing but a few seconds of your time, and gives help and hope to a person in desperate need.

Click here to give free food:

Visit The Breast Cancer Site at http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/home every day and click on the pink "Fund Free Mammograms" button to help fund free mammograms for homeless, low-income women.

October marks the Pink Ribbon Challenge at The Breast Cancer Site, where every daily click is doubled thanks to our premiere sponsor, National City. This month, more than ever, a simple daily click will save lives. Our goal is to give 500 mammograms this month and we'll meet and beat that goal with your help. Please tell your friends about the Pink Ribbon Challenge and click every day!

It costs you nothing to help make early detection and survival possible. Funding is paid by site sponsors and goes to the nonprofit National Breast Cancer Foundation, who uses it to grant access to mammography to women in need. You can click once per day.

Pass it along as a way to fight breast cancer all year long, and especially this October!

At The Child Health Site, a simple, free click every day helps impoverished children around the world stay healthy! Make a difference daily at: http://www.thechildhealthsite.com/home.

About The Child Health Site

Over 200,000 children die every week from preventable causes. Millions more suffer from preventable childhood diseases, blindness, and accidents that leave them with little hope for an active, healthy life.

Funds generated by your clicks on the blue button at The Child Health Site (http://www.thechildhealthsite.com/home ) pay for vital health services that keep children healthy, bring back health to weakened children, and restore mobility to child amputees.

Site visitors helped more than half a million children in the first year alone!

Funding for critical care is paid by site sponsors, whose ads appear after you click on the "Help a Child - Click for Free" blue button. Health services are provided by leading nonprofit organizations whose international efforts heal children's lives.

These outstanding groups use funds from The Child Health Site to improve the health and well-being of children around the world by providing:

- six-month doses of vitamin A to bolster young immune systems, helping to prevent blindness and debilitating childhood diseases like measles

- emergency re-hydration formula for infants with illnesses that induce life-threatening dehydration

- HIV testing of expectant mothers to enable prevention of mother-to-child transmission

- eye surgeries to cure preventable childhood blindness caused by trachoma or cataracts

- custom-made prostheses - usually a foot or a leg - for child landmine victims and other child amputees

Your daily click, along with other visitors' clicks, helps more than 1,000 children every day, but the sky is the limit. The more people who click each day, the more children we are all able to help get and stay healthy.

Please visit http://www.thechildhealthsite.com/home once a day to help children survive and thrive, and tell others about this easy way to make a real difference in a child's life.

The site list looks long, but they're all linked and are very well-designed, just go to any one and click the link, then the Thank You page comes up, which has the links to all the other sites, click any of them, donate, then the next thanks page comes up, and keep going till all 6 sites are done. It takes less than 2 minutes.
And it's possible to earn revenue just from clicks, the advertisers on the page pay based on the number of people who come to the site and (presumably) see their ad, so the site gets its revenue.

No one can go back and make a brand new start, but everyone can start today and make a brand new end.

The State of Earth - 01-02-2005, 06:59 PM

Guys, I attended an exhibition yesterday titled 'Seeds of Change: The Earth Charter & Human Potential' at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. It was a wonderful exhibition by Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) with support of UNESCO, India.

Here are some important points:

- 850 million people worldwide suffer from chronic hunger.

- The 5 wealthiest countries have a greater Gross National Product than next 50 nations worldwide.

- 2.2 million people, most of them children, die each year from disease assocaited with lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene.

- The annual cost of meeting the basic needs of all people in developing countries is only one-tenth of what world's goverments spend on armaments each year.

There was a lot on education, respect & care for community, ecological integrity, social & economic justice, democracy, non-violence & peace.
