Hi PGites!! Me a new member of PG and already a big-big fan of it. And the excellent response of the thread "Payback Time" shows what makes PG so special - the gr8 junta. Hats off ppl!!

Well, as the discussion is being now divided into city-wise threads for a more organised POA, I m creating the Kolkata thread. Ahoy ppl of the City of Joy, hop in to the move. Haven't seen too many posters frm Kol as yet.

Well, quite frankly, I haven't got ne experience in these activities but really want to get involved now. Have been reading thru all the posts and loved all the ideas. Now here, first what we need is participation frm the ppl. Cmon ppl, lets get the ball moving. Then the ideas will come in and things can take shape. Really, for everything that we have been lucky to get - education, good living etc., doing something for the not so lucky ones is the least we can do in return. That too when u realize that all it would take away frm us are a few hrs frm our otherwise leisurely spent weekends and give so much satisfaction in return.

So cmon Kolkatans, let's contribute our bit to this gr8 move started by PG.

on just a tangential note - fooguy .. really . hardly any kolkatans in this forum .. at least .. active ones :-) .. u shud promote PG.com to kolkata kids out there. am sure, with kolkatans being such big chatterboxes ( am one too ;-) ) , they wud find PG.com the perfect place 2 be.
and of course u need more active members from PG kolkata if u want to do something from there !

Ah..tats sad :( . Will surely do my bit in popularising PG here in Kol.

But again my appeal goes out to the silent ones frm Kol in this forum. Come out ppl!! Ain't we Kolkatans supposed to be the big hearted ones? Really, unless u'll participate, nothin can happen.

Manish, i have time after the 27th. But again, we need more ppl to have some meaningful meeting. See if u can prolly in some of ur frnds.

FooGuy great initiative in starting the thread. Hold on .. we will have more junta onboard soon and your thread will gain attention in due course.. The Kolkattans are here .. but they aren't really the most active kind on the forums

It will take a lil while.. Just hold the boat until then

Hi,

I have asked someone who happens to live in WB right now. I hope she come forward to do her bit. She has genuine concern for this issue.

For incentives you guys will be able to get places in NGO around the world. Just think about it. Maybe you will be able to work for the UN. Isn't that great. Do come forward Kolkattans. Others living in major towns in WB should necessarily come forward too.

Remember to PM me for any issue.

abt time we kolkatans did something purposeful dont u think??
i have been actively involved with THE SPASTIC SOCIETY OF INDIA for 2 years during my plus 2...we can do a lot for various other organisations as well. junta post in ur comments..i do think we have a sizeable population of kolkatans on PG now. most of us will shift into different b-skools in end june...so i guess we have around a month to initiate some kind of a programme and let the other guys who will stay in kolkata further give it direction.

rock on,
ayan.
