Mumbai Marathon 2006!!!! :-) - 10-12-2005, 01:32 AM

Hello people!

Rather late than never! lets start talking about the

Important Gyaan about the Marathon.. before i go on about it..
  • Its on 15th Jan
  • Last Date of Registration is 15th Dec
  • You can register at Planet M outlets or online via credit card!
For more details of the marathon , Visit the website... http://mumbaimarathon.indiatimes.com/
More about it??? ....
  • The Dream Run (7 km run) is a pretty achievable target.. i know.. i did it last time..!
  • There is sooo much crowd and soo much enthusiasm in the crowd that you dont even realise when you reach the finish line! LOL
  • They give you biscuits and water.. its more like a picnic!
  • When strangers/ friends have pledged their hard earned Moolah on U.. u jus get that extra push to make it to the finish line..
  • You have the options of Jogging/ Running/ Walking/ Waddling/ Crawling.. Trust me.. we did it all last year..!
  • Its once in a year oppurtunity.. and lemme tell u.. once u go for it.. u long for the next one!
OK.. now on a much serious note..
Why run for the marathon?? Why "pledge" on someone who is running for the marathon.. Its simpler to quote PG here..

If you are intrested in running this marathon with us or want to pledge for a runner, Post here... and SOON!!! time is running..

This will be one experience you will cherish for a long time

More details on the marathon will be put up by puneet

As for now, People definitely Jogging/ Running/ Walking/ Waddling/ Crawlingfor the event are:
  • Geetu
  • Puneet
  • Allwin

The easiest way to register is Online ...
Just make sure that on the front page of online registrations , you select NO for pledging otherwise you will be charged Rs 100 extra.

Ok folks . This year i will be handling all the pledging / donations for this great cause.

You could pledge / support a PG member who will be running this marathon. You can pledge any amount of money that you may wish .If you do not want to pledge for someone , you can simply donate as a PG community service .
All the procceds will go to NASEOH http://www.naseoh.org/

Only mode of pledging/donating is that you can send a cheque over in the name of NASEOH to me . Please note that Cash wont be accepted.

Those who are interested in pledging/donating , can post on this thread or pm me and i will send over my contact details to you and any other information that you need.
You could involve your friends / relatives / co workers and all of them will get a special mention on PG

Those who are running the marathon can also donate.

Most important thing is all those who are in Mumbai or will be in Mumbai around 15th january should take part in this event . All those who ran last year know what i am talking about . Its one great experience not to be missed .
You might even brush shoulders with your favourite celebrity , Yeh hai mumbai meri jaan

Looking forward to active participation by PG members all over India

Isn't there any entrance exam clashing with Mumbai Marathon this year? While I was in Mumbai, every year there was an entrance exam (2004 and 2005) on the same day!

And now that I dont have any entrance exams to give, I will be in Kharagpur! Sad. I shall run in the Mumbai Marathon some year though.
