yes, the FMS test is on the same day. But for non delhi students, the chances of winning in the mumbai marathon are more than getting through in FMS!

guys, do let me know if somebody receives the ack and the running number. I am wary of IT systems these days!

Re: confirmation and running number? - 17-12-2005, 08:59 AM

mee too got it!

can somebody else collect ur running number coz the timings are pretty odd?? or will the running number be sent with the physical acceptance letter?

i am feeling kinda silly about not remembering the instructions!

Quote:
In case the participant is unable to come personally to collect his/her running number bib, a representative can collect the running number bib in his/her stead. However, the representative must carry the original Acceptance Letter signed by the participant/guardian (as the case may be), and an authority letter authorizing him/her to collect the running number bib on behalf of the participant.
so thats the end of that!

Quote:
Your acceptance letter will be sent to you shortly.
In the case the physical Acceptance Letter does not reach you, you can remove a print of this e-mail confirmation for collection of your Running Number from the South Side Lobby, World Trade Centre, Centre 1, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai- 400 005 between January 11 to 14, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The confirmed participant must carry this e-mail confirmation in person. Please carry some proof of identification, e.g. Driving license, Passport copy, Company/School/College identity card, if required by registration officials at the Expo.

Re: Mumbai Marathon 2006!!!! :-) - 04-01-2006, 04:55 PM

Hi Friends,

Greetings & New Year Wishes!

I am running in aid of Dream A Dream.

Dream A Dream, is an oraganization working towards empowering children from vulnerable communities through life-skills.

The vital work done by Dream A Dream in empowering children from vulnerable communities reaffirms our faith that we are indeed creating a positive, sustainable impact on the lives of children less-privileged than us.

Dream A Dream is extraordinary. The work done by Dream A Dream to build a model of empowering children through life-skills and finally successfully integrating them into the mainstream is indeed unique, creative, scalable and supremely impacting.

Dream A Dream’s first insight was that every individual in the community has a need to give and that need should be translated into action through creating a platform where the community can positively contribute. Dream A Dream is probably best known for its brilliant ability to systematically build a strong community force of volunteers and use them to empower children from vulnerable communities. It helps them take off, and it sticks with them over their lifetimes – until they have in fact changed the world.

Today, Dream A Dream brings over 8 programmes to 350 children from vulnerable communities. This include prograammes in sports such as Hockey and Table Tennis, computer training, reading based programmes, spoken english programmes, theatre, creative arts, adventure based programmes, and recreational programmes.

Moving forward, we will introduce a community service programme, an adolescent awareness building programme, a mentoring programme and a livelihood programme to help children get gainful employment as they become adults. All this and more has evolved over 6 years of painstaking work – where we have failed at times and succeeded at other times because of our dogged determination.

For example, we have seen children overcome immense personal challenges to participate in our sports programmes – Hockey and Table Tennis for over 3 years now and in the process the children have built self-esteem, confidence, discipline, gender equity, and an aspiration for their lives.

Dream A Dream was founded in November 1999. It has accomplished some milestones. It now is uniquely positioned to make even bigger contributions to the history of our era especially in the lives of children. To do so, however, it needs our -- and, very much, your -- help.

Please do what you can. There is no higher yielding, more important investment.

I have committed to participate in the Standard Chartered International Mumbai Marathon to be held on Sunday, January 15th 2006 and I am running 7 km in aid of Dream A Dream. I have set myself a target to raise Rs. 25,000 for Dream A Dream and YOU can help me reach this target.

You can support my run by making a pledge to me, Here is how:

- Make an Online Contribution via the link http://www.giveindia.org/give/pledge.jsp using your credit card. Remember my email ID is mituag@gmail.com

- Or sending a cheque made out to 'GIVE India', to Dream a Dream’s mailing address – Dream a Dream, No. 5, Ist Floor, Nanjundappa Street, AT Halli, Shantinagar, Bangalore 560 027. Ph: +91-80-2224 7745

You will receive the receipt and 80-G tax exemption certificate after the event, and your contribution, which will go into life-skills development programmes for children from vulnerable communities, will be listed on the GiveIndia website! Do get in touch if you would like more information. You can find out more about Dream a Dream by clicking on the link www.dreamadream.org

A pledge of just Rs. 500 from 50 people will help me reach my target. With every good wish for a superb 2006!

Regards,
Mitesh
