Can somebody pour in their inputs on how to speed up the mind processing??? |
Madhavi, the problem that came out in your test was
very specific : mind processing speed was slow.
The processing speed of the brain can definitely be improved by using tried and tested methods. A consequence of this would be an automatic improvement in your reading speed.
Here is a very nice article which I received in my inbox (from my subscription of the IQ Test Labs newsletter)
Study: Reinforcing memory
It is possible to adopt behaviors that will increase memory performance at any level of current achievement. Here are some techniques that will sharpen your memory.
- Discover new facts and latest developments about topics that interest you. Find other people who are interested in the same area and share opinions and views.
- Find new and original ways to accomplish everyday tasks. In every learning process new regions of the brain are activated and reinforced. For example you can try brushing your teeth or buttoning your clothes with your other hand. You can also change your writing style or dress with your eyes closed.
- Books, seminars and documentaries are all significant educational resources that can have beneficial results. Board games such as chess can also help you maintain your brain's potential.
- Physical activity is also very important. Older people who walk at least 30 minutes a day usually have better long term memory recall and greater concentration.
- Certain foods contribute more than others towards the neural circuitry responsible for memory. The main characteristics of these foods is that they are content rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, lettuce
Salmon, sardines
Fruit and fruit juice, berries

Another way of improving the mind processing skill would be to try and improve two things:
- Your IQ: Your IQ is partly a measure of your processing speed. Try improving it by reading books. Try the tests on INTERNATIONAL HIGH IQ SOCIETY
- Improving your memory and retention capabilities: Try getting hold of a copy of a book on Memory Techniques by Harry Loraine and Jerry Lucas. I have read the bookin the past, and it is simply amazing..
