Hey guys, I browsed for about 30 pages in this thread so dont flame me if the question is a repeat.

My tutor gave it to me and I am having a hard time solving it.
He says he found it in a tenth standard book so not outside the CAT boundaries.

Guys Try it out In a triangle ABC, right angled at B, the median through C bisects the angle between CA and the bisector of < C. Which among the following best describes the range of AC/CB?

(1) ((√5 -1)/2, 2) (2) (2, 5/2) (3) (√2+1, 2√3) (4) (5/2, 3) (5) (√5, 4)

Re: Geometry - 14-10-2008, 04:36 PM

A rope is wound round the outside of a circular drum whose diameter is 70 cm and a bucket is tied to the other end of the rope. find the number of revolutions made by the drum if bucket is raised by 11m? (Iam getting : 2.5 but the book says 5.)

A wire is looped in the form of a circle of rad=28 cm. it is bent again into a square from. what will be the length of the diagonal of the largest square possible? (My answer : 4*11^2). Please check.

i think ....u considered it as radius ..but given is diameter...

circumference = 220cm = 2.2m

=> 11/2.2 = 5

For second ...

4s = 176
=> s = 44

diagonal vil be 44sqrt(2)

Menace!!
