Here 1/3 for the first and 4/5 for the scond and hence the probability of raining will be 4/15.
4/3 is given in the problem which may be wrong.

Msksent ur answer for 1st qn is right.. 3rd qn is not clear..

2)..let prob of head in a toss be p & of tail be q then ..p+q=1
In two tosses probability of two heads is 2C0 *p^2*q^0= p^2

given p^2=q (both heads in 2 tosses as it may come tails in a single toss)

so p^2=1-p solving we get prob of a head in a single toss= p=( 5^0.5 -1 )/2 ANS

1)this is simple ............
first invert both of them now when 7hr glass shows 7hr invert it again and when 11 hr glass shows 11 hr again invert the 7hr glass at that moment and whenever now the whole sand comes in the bottom half (in the 7hr one), it will be 15 Hrs.
2)10 sec
3)we will not b able to find date of birth but birth year will be 1892.
X=44

hope u got it
Cheers Apple
