number of 2 digit nos= 4*5 = 20

number of 3 digit nos= 4*5*5= 100

total number of 4 digit nos possible= 4*5*5*5= 500
but these contain nos. -- 4 4 _ _ and 4 3 _ _

which are 5*5 + 5*5 = 50 in number.
since 4300 is included in the aforesaid 50, 4 digit nos not allowed= 49

hence ans= 4+20+100+500-49 =575

4)points (4,-1),(6,0),(7,2) and (5,1) are joined to be a vertex of a quadrilateral.what will be the structure?

ans : rhombus

can someone explain how to verify if the points above are a square/rhombus?

5)the number of lines thata re parallel to 2x+6y+7=0 and have an intercept of legth 10 between the co-ordinate axes is?

ans : 2

6)if P(6,7),Q(2,3) and R(4,-2) be the vertices of a triangle then which of the following is not a point contained in this triangle?

ans : (6,1)

since things are similar...

if we arrange things like...

|||||....50 times...now there are 49 gaps....and we have to select 7 spaces...
for ex...we select spaces which are marked by ^..

we can hv
|^|||^|||^|||||^||||||^...
this will mean 1 st player 1 thing...
2nd->3
3rd->3
4->5 things

and since all the things are same...only count of thing matters...
so the ans acc to me is 49C7...
i hope its correct...else will look again in soln...mite hv overloked smthin..

I found this question in yahoo previous placement papers. Even I'm trying to figure it out. Let us see if any one can come up with an idea. Or else we can deem this question vague.
