As I told in my first post in introductions, in this thread, I will be posting some 'Questions' for MBA aspirants to attempt and to respond. After some responses / days, I will post my thoughts on the answer. Beyond just giving the answer, I intend to provide the explanation. I may also add different variants to the question and the possible solutions. Hope this will be useful to the MBA aspirants.
Here is my first question.
I want to grow the maximum possible number of rose plants in the available space in the backyard which is of a rectangular shape and of size 8 meters X 10 meters. The horticulture expert advised me to ensure that the minimum distance between any two plants be one meter for maximum yield of roses.
How many rose plants should I buy? Knowledge makes one wise.
But it is the practice that makes him successful. | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to murthymsr For This Un-useful Post: | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to murthymsr For This Useful Post:

I think keeping the 1m minimum distance constraint in mind we can plant only
9X11 = 99 Plants...
Not sure if I am going wrong somewhere...

planting the rose plants along the square grids gives 9x11 plants.
If rather, we plant them in rhombus grids, i guess we can plant more than that...
is unlearning to learn
