Hey Guys,

It might be relevant to the discussion and it might as well be irrelevant, but I am just gonna go through with it... "Is it right! or wrong! to answer it directly in a B-School Interview which specialisation do U think ur gonna opt for" and how can an outsider(not yet a B-schooler) know and judge by himself which specialisation would do justice to his passion and potential.

I was pretty much sure that I am gonna opt for Systems-Minor and Marketing-Major, until all my views were squashed in PI's. I was able to justify myself, but it wasn't enough for the Interviewers. Can anybody comment?

Systems and Operations for me as i think they would ensure that my engg degree does not become useless which might be the case should i choose something like finance or marketing.

regarding portfolio offered in finance n mktg - 30-05-2005, 11:10 AM

i have a querry that if one have 2 yrs of work-ex in core industry....is it possible for him to get a good portfolio in placements if he opts for FINANCE as major.....

n in MKTNG is it necessary to have some hand on exp b4 joining B school in order to flourish later ....n what r the position offered in placements for this 2 specializations...

what do u say PG ites share some gyan....

i will dude if you interevieew's thrashed u in PIs that means you were not really able to convince them or justify ypur answer... get more mock PIs and that wud definitely help you..

how bout an HR and a marketing dual? dont know bout systems though..but as of now it cant be finance...i think u shud know ureself verrry well to decide ur specialisation (introspect)...half of which one can do now...an a major of it later during the first year at da b-school...
