How similar is GMAT and CAT in terms of preparation resources? - 11-06-2008, 09:16 AM

Hey guys,
I am planning on getting started on my GMAT prep and there was loose talk that GMAT is similar to CAT and that I should give CAT a try if I am trying for GMAT.But I need some professional consultation before I plan to give the CAT as well.Hence,I am at PG forums.
What is the verdict with respect to this question?
Are CAT and GMAT similar in terms of the content of the tests?
Quants,DI,verbal?
Many thanks for the answers!

Actually,I thought about it for quite some time before posting in this section.
I tried searching for GMAT,CAT similarity but couldnt find any topic as such that related to the both of them.
That is why,I finally decided on making a thread of it.And thought since I am asking about the similarity between both GMAT and CAT in terms of preparation resources, I would post it in the Exam Resources sub-forum meant for all exams.If this is the wrong place,I am sorry.Please let me know,where do I post a query pertaining to both GMAT and CAT(pertaining to the content of the exam).

@newstart

I understand what you are saying. There is no thread as such.

I find this thread redundant.

If you post your queries on the GMAT query centre or the CAT threads you will find many people who have given both.

To have a separate thread is unnecessary. However, it is upto the mods and users to decide.

Cheers.
