Hi friends,
I have joined pagalguy recently . Looking out for some tips on gk section.
This section scares me a lot . Exams like snap ,nmat ,xat...lay lot of weightage on GK . The questions are based on varied topics . It is possible to keep track of current affairs and get through such questions but what about the rest of the questions like those based on history, science ,discoveries & inventions , important dates ,sports ..we can never be sure of what is going to come in the paper no matter how much we study . What should be the approach and how to study for this GK SECTION ? :confused:

As it has been told a zillion times in the past, basic reading (everyday newspaper) would keep you in a good stead. Apart from this, buy Manorama Yearbook. The book is very comprehensive as far as entrance exam GK is concerned. Also, subscribe and read one general and one business magazine. Follow all this earnestly and you would find B-school entrance GK questions very easy.

That will help . Theres no escape from reading :sarcasm: for sure but i am still sceptical how much i will be able to prepare for gk after i start now .. what would be considered as a decent score in snap gk section ?

Hi priyanka,

There are 40 questions on GK is SNAP, which account for 40 marks. There are some difficult questions, but other questions are generally easy i.e. mostly related to current business events. SIBM and SCMHRD dont give exact cutoffs for individual sections but I think any score above 8 wil suffice (20%)
