Point taken .. !

Confusion has its importance, but that's too obvious!

See, it is very difficult to rate an institution's repo on an overall scale unless you fit in there comfortably. What i mean to say is, may be you find QA your weaker area and join, say IMS at some location in Delhi, and probably you may like the classes, despites other may dislike the same. Hope you get the point. So, it's good that you shouldn't miss the bigger picture here. am surprised by this stmt...!!! u cannot classifu coaching on the basis of places... i would only like to suggest u follow any coaching material or coaching schedule religiously....!!!
OR IMHO if u r in hyd join Time.... if in mumbai join IMS.... if in PUNE join Career Forum.... if in delhi join Career Launcher... coz gernerally the best faculty wid the respective institutes are available in their HO's.... else if however, u dint belong to ne of the centres... then take up any material... nd follow the structure they prvide u as n wen...

My personal opinion:

IMS: Study Material - avg to good (VA/RC - best), Faculty & mutual interactions- depends on location (Delhi has got good faculties almost at all locations), Tests and Prep Strategy - Good. Student base ~ 25k.

TIME: Study Material - good (esp DI & QA), Faculty & mutual interactions- Almost good at all locations, Tests and Prep Strategy - Excellent, Student base ~ 35k.

CL: Study Material - Good to Excellent (esp QI & VA/RC), Faculty & mutual interactions- Delhi is probably best known CL location, Tests and Prep Strategy - Good, Student base ~ 15k.

My take: CL (And chose any other Test series, you wish to enroll.)

[ nothing much to say here only this that.... during last two yrs i have enrolled 2 to 3 instis each year fr their test series n i hv nt face problem regarding interaction frm faculties of all the instis they time to time guide u n motivate u as n wen... so my take is this... come out of this hoopla as soon as possible...]
I don't have any idea about other Coaching Institutions. Heard about PT, that's good too. But all i said was my personal opinion. Take a tour to some of the coaching instis, Think over it, talk to their students, and match your level of requirements, find the suits and join in anyone you wish to.

HTH..

P.S. Strictly personal opinion based on talks with friends and seniors, even though, I didn't go for any coaching classes.

Hi!!!
I am currently pursuing my B.E in computers science and I am in my 3rd year.
I am in a bit of dilemma whether to join Tathagat or CL -CP or IMS. What i feel as of now is that i need a bit more effort on VA/RC and DI than QA . Is CL will be apet for this. Please , if possible can u compare CL and Tathagat wrt faculty, material(DI and VA/RC) .

Moreover i am confused whether I should join now or around December. One more query does OG 11 refer to GMAT official guide

Re: Coaching classes for CAT ?? - 25-08-2008, 11:56 PM

All Tathagat or CL -CP or IMS are considered to be the best in the coaching market..!

As u have realized that u need more efforts in VA/ RC then u should go for a institute that has a good , reputed faculty for Verbal .
IMS is considered to be the best for Verbal but then CL - CP is also upto the mark.. (Take a mock CAT to decide in which all areas u lack or need special attention)

I cant compare CL and Tathagat wrt faculty, material(DI and VA/RC) as i have less idea abt the later..
but rest assured CL - CP is one of the best . (m a current student, and m comparing it as many of my frnds r in many other centers or other institutes)

Joining a Coaching Insti is just 10 % of ur prep.. its the hard work u put in matters..!!

joining in Dec or now is totally up to u .. if u think u r clear with the basics and just need a brush up then Dec would do for u .. but if u think u need to go through the fundas again then joining now would be fruitful.

And yes... OG 11 is the Offical Guide to GMAT..

Hope this post was of any use to u ..

All the best ..
