Just wanted to share with the PGs in Delhi that there are free interactive seminars going on at IMS South Campus centre in Delhi taken by eminent faculty members Mrs. Manju bhandari and Mr. Gautam Sharma. It is on 21st June also from 5 pm onwards. You can get all your career queries cleared and you can gain valuable insights about MBA (India and abroad). I attended one seminar on 14th June and it was powerpacked with interesting inputs about MBA; inputs that could not be gotten simply anywhere. I am now sure that I have joined the best place for my CAT prep.

I have always felt coaching is a waste of time and can work against you rather than help you. Maybe PG can conduct a survey of succesful candidates to give a trend about this. Most of the numbers shown by coaching institutes include test series students as well. They never give a number of people from coaching classes alone.

So my suggestion is to take 2-3 test series from different insititutes and attempt them every weekend. Analyze your performance . Work on your week areas. Don't waste time going through the entire junk of 10th standard maths and English the coaching insitutes put you through. Probably get old material of these insititutes second hand. I am sure many people will be willing to give it away free and focus on areas you identify as needing improvement from mocks performance. Don't study the full material end to end.

This way it is more than enough if your start in first week of August. Thats when I started and this was what I did.

Lot of advice is already available in the forum. But it may be difficult for you to go and peruse through loads of advice given over the ages.

Please help me decide!
Thanks.
I am taking classes at IMS South Campus centre. Even I was in the same dilemma a month back. But I took the call and am now at least sitting satisfied by the learning experience at IMS South Campus. The classes taken by Mrs. Manu Bhandari and Mr. Gautam Sharma are awesome and nonpareil. The personalised sessions that we get and the kind of 'extra' and 'out-of-the-box' experience that we get over here is extremely good.

Hey!
Does anyone have any idea if IMS is better than TIME (Bombay?) I'm very confused, people seem so divided! Thank you so much...!

Coaching classes for CAT in Chennai??? - 21-06-2008, 09:08 AM

I'm a 3rd year BE student and I want to join a coaching centre for CAT in Chennai. I have a few doubts about which centre to join. Which centre is the best? Does the branch matter for TIME and IMS? If so, which is the best centre? I live in Anna Nagar btw.

Also I plan to write CAT-2009. So when do I start going for classes?
