Re: Coaching classes for CAT ?? - 22-06-2009, 02:04 PM

Hi,

I am preparing to give my CAT 2009 but want some guidence regarding the same. I dont want to go to big name coaching institutes like TIME, IMS etc, but would rather prefer the private names or smaller classes?

I live in Delhi, can anyone tell me if there are any small class or induvidual teachers running their own batches for DI / Quant / Verbal ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Byju's Coaching classes for CAT ?? - 22-06-2009, 03:47 PM

Hi guys, I know this question has been asked a lot of times on this thread but i didnt find a consolidated answer to my question,so I wish to ask again-

Please give me ur opinion abt Byju's classes in Pune.

I attended his session free session yesterday and came wid mixed feelings. I liked his approach. But does he maintain the same ingenuity throughout the course or is it just showmanship for the first few classes.

I have already taken CAT twice scoring 83 n 85,after attending full classroom course in TIME.So I have the basics right but Quant n DI r my nemesis.

Hi Siddhartha,

Byju's classes ,though are not very professional are good. All that is required to ace is taught in the class, sometimes so much so that you become complacent abt your success.
A little bit high fundu but concepts are worth joining. However the mock test series is not that gr8.

Regards,
Amrit

Re: Coaching classes for CAT ?? - 23-06-2009, 12:35 PM

I visited a few outfits including TIME, CareerLauncher (CL), ProfessionalTutorials (PT), CareerForum (CF), Success Guru (SG), Peakseekers (Mumbai) etc.

Batch size: CL, TIME, CF have huge classrooms with batch sizes of around 60+
PT batch sizes I am not sure. SG batch size is around 15-20.

Study Material: Peakseekers material is the best of all these. SG uses Peakseekers material - some tie up. TIME, CF, CL are considerably behind when it comes to this.

Faculty: Faculty is reasonably similar at all these. The only difference is the faculty time and is impacted directly by the batch size. If you want more faculty time, go for lesser batch size.

Location: Most have centers all over pune with the exception of PT, SG and Peakseekers. Peakseekers is not at all in Pune directly - since they're working with SG in pune. SG is only next to Indsearch on LC Road and Aundh. PT is definitely at DP Chowk.

I'd say if you're in Pune, go for SG, PT for the coaching and make sure you don't miss the AIMCATS from CL, TIME

As about coaching classes in pune , I feel joining a coaching class for only study material is sheer waste of money as you can purchase it second hand from market also . TIME study material is the best. The main main consideration must be on joining those coaching institutes where we can have small batch sizes and individual attention .After thorough analysis In regards to personal attention the following classes stand out like SPARK, Takshila and success guru . The only drawback with takshila is its high fees . I also attended demo sessions by SPARK and believe me they were awesome , I have personally joined SPARK . anyways they allow you to attend free demo sessions before joining so this thing i found very genuine about them . you can follow the link Spark4Success. I went t TIME and asked them to provide free demo sessions before i could join but they outrightdly refused which i found very annoying.

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it;
if you can dream it, you can become it.
