Hi

I am from Powai, Mumbai. I want to know which is better of the two to prepare for CAT - IMS or TIME ?

I have got feedbacks like IMS is unnecessarily tougher and TIME is better with better study material. IMS also charges more than TIME. But some of my friends who have actually got a lot of calls, say IMS is better.

I am a working IT professional and want to make it through CAT-2009. I am interested in weekday morning batches from one institue and plan to take just the test series of another for a better preparation.

I am all confused! Which is better??

bro,TIME's AIMCATs are best among the other test series.

I don't think so.. AIMCAT is more predictable than SIMCAT. Moreover u could see various pattern in SIMCAT... U will feel bored after giving 5-6 AIMCATs. Personally I felt more seriousness while giving SIMCAT becoz of better xam environment.. AIMCAT is more of a chaos..

i wud recommend you to go for both (i had enrolled fr both, n i used to attend each on alternate sundays)........ both of them good n it wud better to go fr both wen their is so much uncartainity over CAT exam pattern this year......

I have joined TIME - Powai, depends on your choice both are almost same but TIME has better results.
Since both are in the same building so the location does not matter as well, for more details pm me.

AIMCATs are way better and give a much better idea of where u stand among the crowd.... though that tht shudnt b ur criteria fr further preps. Test series shud b used better than comparing ranks and looking for their unpredictability... It shud help u determine ur strengths and weaknesses. Work on ur strengths and improve on ur weaknesses. Analyse the paper after every test. C wat went wrong. what questions shud have been done but u missed out during the exam.
As for classes, its jus fr brushing up ur basics and a word of advice.... please dont try and mug up formulaes... it jus makes it harder t use them... i'd recommend goin down t the basics and understandin them.. anyways all the best fr CAT 2009!!

agree completely to above post. No pattern can match the pattern u r gonna get in CAT. So if u r looking for how many kind of patterns u ll have in mock and how useful they will be u r looking at in wrong direction acc. to me !
Purpose of mocks is to assess whr u stand in comparison with real junta. TIME will give u atleast 2 times more ppl to compare with than any other test series and thr analysis is also vry gud. Though i alway feel they have poor eng. (for past 3 CAT all instis are in same boat wrt CAT VA ) but still i will recommend it.

I m totally biased towards time becoz i feel mocks r only way to prepare for CAT .... material is more or less same by all and doesnt make much difference as topics r same in all of them ... so i ll say go to classes only for regular study and give major push in mocks .. now c urself which suits u better
