well constantine..... its always advisable to be direct and tell the interviewer that u don't know the answer.... instead of beating around the bush.... if u be frank and tell that, the interviewer will be pleased by ur honesty rather not note ur ignorance.... moreover, if u try to beat around the bush, he will simply take u to task and make it more difficult for u.... So just be direct that u don't know the answer.... there's nothing wrong in that as they themselves don't expect u to know each and everything...

Secondly, if u know quite a lot about the subject, try to divert their attention to that rather than what u don't know.... this means covering ur weaknesses with ur strengths... this is not bluffing about what u know.... but highlighting....

My advice is that if u don't know something and have no clue about it, leave it.... if u know quite a lot about it, but not exactly, then also leave it, but highlight what u know.....

Be humble and thirsty for knowledge.... it will win their attention for u....

Adieu!!!
