I am decent at doing RC's but I am very bad at doing questions on 'Fill in the blanks' and paragraph making type of questions.

can you guys please give me some funda on how solve them.

Another thing...should one invest time in answering small RC's which are followed by just one question???

I guess you are talking abt "Critical Reasoning" qns.. RCs generally have 3 (min) to 10 (max) questions.. well CR qns are generally dicey.. try working out on some Qns.. if u get them working.. go ahead
