I want to help - 20-09-2005, 12:47 PM

I'm an Engineering Student, doing my third year. I just thought of an idea and wanted to share with people who are willing to help each other. What do you think of the idea of having Online Multiple Choice Tests for CAT and other competitive exams? Users can add questions to the database so that others can actually take the test instead of blindly looking at the answers... People can take instant tests which are randomly generated from a set of questions from that particular quiz... You need not have to enter 100s of questions at a time... Just one or two questions when you find time... That one or two questions by some 50 people will generate 100 questions which will be helpful to thousands of people... I like Open Source, so i plan to keep the Online Multiple Choice Tests Database open to all and ofcourse free to all... I wanted to know how far people will like this idea. Depending on the feedback, i'll post a tutorial on how to create a quiz and enter questions into that questions if you are interested. My database can hold only multiple choice questions with any number of choices.... If there are any other formats, i think we can manage them under the same format only...

I'm really interested in making a huge database so that many people find it useful for their preparation. Please let me know how you like this idea and if you are willing to help...

You can start the database right away. We have a sea of scattered data here on PG. Organise the data present here and make it available to us PGites There are umpteen questions in Quant section, English Resources and their likes.

Yaa it can be like this....Ne question in the database will have 3 attributes Section,type,answer....

Sections - quant,EU,RC,DI,DS,LR
Type - para-jumble, sentence correction .....etc etc..

SO one can ask for ne type of questions..they can take a full CAT test..or take a sectional test..or else can practise perticular type of questions....

But then i got a doubt where will you implement such a database???? is PG willing to allow it in this forum??????

Very rightly pointed out If this was about aggregating questions from various institute's material and sharing them, then forget it..Out goes this thread !!! We do not allow distribution or sharing of any copyrighted material...

Cheers

dear moderator we very well know the rules of PG.we have a prob here.this database is not intended to share copyright material..but then how can we distinguish copyrighted material ?? when everyone can add questions..how can we know which ques is copyrighted??

we are waiting if some1 can come up with a solution to this prob..
