-This table is used in questions related to topics like Profit and loss,
time speed and distance, C.I.,S.I, etc. and also in D.I.
-This reduces ur calculation to the minimum level( but u shud know the
reciprocals till 30 for that coz it will help a lot)
-Example – If the price of sugar increases then by how much % should one
reduce his consumption to avoid extra expenditure.
When price of sugar is increased by 50% the consumption will reduce by
33.33%and like wise.
This will b most useful in TSD questions.
{If anyone knows abt. This % table in any book plz. Let me know the name of
the book.}
As my personal advice I wud suggest all ppl seriously wanting to appear for
cat shud learn the reciprocals, squares and cubes till 30 and roots also. I
have felt that this makes calculations much faster. When I was preparing for
cat we were told to keep on thinking in numbers until we were comfortable
with there use all of us.
One most important thing in all MBA exams we have 4 or 5 options with us so
we need not calculate exact ans. With the use of above mentioned techniques
we can get the approximate correct ans. and save time, but if all the ans.
choices r very close then we have to calculate, but this is very rare if we
get close ans. and for XLRI when I feel that if u know the reciprocals that
helps u a lot in the quant sec.( this is what I personally believe)and for
CAT u need to practice all types of questions and if u get a new type of
question plz. Do not try to attempt it coz u might loose some precious time
in getting the techniques. .( I might sound repetitive but I thought that it
might b useful for all of us.)
