PaGaLGuY.com portal loading error on IE

Hi Guys,

Wondering if any of you face such a problem? We've never faced a similar problem on Firefox or on IE 7...so just wanted to know how many of you have?

The problem: Pictures don't load properly. Page allignment is completely lost.

hey buddy me too sometime face such problem i think the major cause is that the css doesn't gets loaded.
And i also believe there should be some performance testing to be done for this website as number of subscriber are increasing daily.
One major failure which sows why performance testing is necessary is when CAT results were out i was not able to open pg

Good u identified this problem. Have been facing it since quite a few months now. the alignment either is lost at opening the site and restores on logging in orvice versa

Great!!! Even i am facing this problem. Coz of this i have been using firefox. I think the problem is basically with the images.

Not necessarily on IE since i've seen it happen on FF(1.5)

Theory:
IIRC, browswers download page first and then go looking for the images. If in the time its hunting for the images, the connection is reset, the browser still has enough code to render a page albeit without the images. What stumps me though is why the formatting is lost since theoretically, its downloaded the page code anyways and shld render that correctly

Nowadays the site is opening fine in office (most of the times), but when I m trying to open PG.com from home, I still face the same problem i.e. the image present in eka's post!!!

The problem which I can figure out can be lot many images on the home page bcoz this is the reason Google's home page is free from all the images as read in the Google story!!!

I m a UI designer i design webpages and according to me the imgae doesn't get load bcoz they may be very large in size and the misalignment is due to the css file doesn't get loaded.
Moreover the performance of site is also slow this may be becuase they have used heavy background images which takes time to upload something should be done to increase efficiency of site as daily many users are subscribing to it.
To load a thread completely with 100 mbps line it takesd around 1 minute what would be the speed of loading in dial up connection. there is a need to improve alot in it.

On the day of CAT we had in excess of 30GB of data transfer, had 10 lakh page views and at a given time had around 2300 users simultaneously online. I wouldn't call it a major failure.

@ Others:
Even though we are mostly using FF in office, 70% of the junta still uses IE. The error might be css related - and we are having a look at it.

@ neo: I don't really think we are having that problem. The portal is not too heavy. But will have a look at that too.

It might also be a conflict with a tiny bit of banner coding.....but do pour in your views.

We will also be looking to take in your suggestions for a re-vamp of the portal in due time.....

This problem of Pagalguy.com has been since I became one of its member but slowly I realised that it was only on IE and certailnly not on Firefox and since then I am opening this site on the firefox only.

According to me this is not the problem of slow speed of Internet on ones computer but the problem of Internet Explorer itself as I am using the Bsnl Broadband connection now as earlier of Airtel GPRS which was very very slow still I open the Pagalguy.com on IE the same problem of Slow loading happens ( also in IE 7 )

I think this error will tend to continue with IE in coming days also untill and unless Microsoft comes out with another version of browser.

Has anybody used other browsers as Opera, Netscape on this issue.
