my first admit... well, this is malita from mumbai..
have done my b.pharm from bombay college of pharmacy...
thereafter arnd 8 months exp in TCS for clinical data management...

Was not able to come here at PG......Was busy in RM project submission n Start of my summer internship.....

Will try to answer all question raised in last two pages.....if i miss anything raise it again...

Regarding waitlisted candidates......Last year there were around 25 in the waiting list n almost all were finally selected....Last year order of the candidates in waiting list was mentioned....This time its not....Will ask to admission officer about it tommorow........

Regarding Girls Hostel....LIBA doesn't have accomodation facility for girls within the campus....This is due to some issue with loyola.....But this issue is almost sorted...so from next session...2009-11 LIBA will provide girls hostel....So all girls selected this year will have to arrange for hostel outside the campus for this year.....But Nothing to worry...LIBA has contacts wid local ladies hostels near the campus...Girls in our batch r staying at three main girls hostel....1. Asha Niwas 2.. Servite ladies hostel 3... UCA...Some girls live in flat on rent.....So u can choose any option...Will give contact details of ladies hostel n will give an info on how u can book a room here after taking info from gals of our batch....The thing i can remember is u can book a room even by not coming to chennai personaly...Will give detail info...Just gimme 1-2 days time....

Regarding Boys Hostel... In this area boys r a bit lucky....We hav a 5-star hostel here within the campus....Everybody will get single room...No sharing....Rooms r equipped wid LAN n wi-fi facility....A bed n studytable will be provided....Very neat n clean washrooms ( These r not attached washrooms) A tennis cort.... A TT Table, TV room everything is there...Last year we had tennis tournament here in boys hostel...Singles, Doubles, Mixed doubles( these r some chances when gals r allowed to come in boys hostel)....90 matches were there......Rent is nominal....Basic fare + Mess charges.....cost around 50K per year.....but the new cost structure will be sent to u by Director LIBA hostel....

I guess i hav covered each n everything.....otherwise m always available here on PG...

Hey People!

The great alchemist has done a great job in answering most of your queries.. will add just some more insights to your queries in the last 2 pages or so...

First of all the people in the waiting list dont loose hope as last year almost everyone from the waitinglist had cleared...The details about order of waitlist, alchemist will let youll know...

For people who are planning to take a loan for paying their fees, your best bet will be to wait and take it from Indian Overseas Bank which has a tie-up with LIBA. The interest rate for the loan will be 10% which is among the lowest interest rate youll will get... Youll will get the loan for the entire fee amount + laptop(if required) + hostel fees. Above everything else it is a hassle free process...

A laptop is not compulsory but is very highly recomended that everyone has one.. Almost everyone from our batch has a laptop.. Again by my own experience dont buy a laptop on your own cause when u join LIBA you will get some very good discounts on bulk orders.. Infact this year people from our batch got a Apple for around 50K... So wait for buying your laptop..

N as alchemist has already said the hostel for the guys is the best you can dream of with single rooms, LAN/Wifi facilities, and 24 hours water supply(a rarity in Chennai)..N guys who play tabletennis n badminton carry your rackets along.... Ull definently require to unwind after the grind of the day..N the room rent this year was around Rs 1700 + Rs 1600(approx) for mess charges = Total Rs 3300-3400 per month...The fee structure for this year will be mailed to youll later by the hostel director...

N for the girls youll will have to stay in the ladies hostels around college..The fathers here will help ull in securing admissions to the hostels.. My batchmates are presently staying in 3 ladies hostels around college, namely servite, Asha niwas n UCA... The best one is UCA... So people who know anybody in Chennai please try n tell them to book your room there.. Actually will get the gals from our batch to update ull on the girls hostel n what ull will have to do secure a room...

Good morning to all,
1)Can someone tell me what kind of refund of fees policy LIBA follows.
2) As far as availaing education loan at special rates from IOB Chennai is concerned - Does the applicant have to personally visit the IOB branch in chennai or can it be done in the respective local branch and transferred to Chennai?
