Re: Distance Learning Programs - 27-07-2009, 10:15 PM

Hi Rohittela,
Thanks for the info.. a quick question. How about an Online MBA from KSOU (KArnataka State open University?) I found an institute UBS (Distance Learning MBA | Correspondence MBA | Ubs.edu.in) granting those. Seems new, but credible... has online classes and what i like most is the course structure. It has an MBA in IT which actually doesnt have any PROGRAMMING subjects...as a techie..i thinks thats the way an mba in it should be. All other institutes throw in a couple of programming subjects, and brand their mba as mba in IT.
It also has a one year mba program (sort of executive mba i guess), but I'm not that interested in that.
See, I'm sure I like the content, (for the MBA in IT), and yes, i surely love the fact that i can do it online (virtual classroom) and all...but my concern is, is the Karnataka State Open University good enough. IT's a Government University, which is a big plus when it comes to credibility (AICTE Recognition etc) and especially nowadays, when the Education Minister is cancelling recognitions for private univ's (article recently said that PRivate Univ's cant have distance learning progs) ... but being a north indian, dont really know about KSOU much...
Any opinion? You can check the site out ..a t Distance Learning MBA | Correspondence MBA | Ubs.edu.in
Cheers
