hi preeya and amit,
Yes I think if one prepares for CAT exam he should be able to attempt all the other mba entrance tests( ETs) because CAT happens to be the hardest of all the mba ETs all over the world , its harder than Gmat as well ( this is what I have read on a website) and also if we look at the structure of both the ETs we can know that CAT is really the toughest of all ,
Here's the structure of GMAT:
Verbal section ,41 questions ,75 min Quantitative section,37 question,75 min Analytical Writing ,2 essays ,30 min allotted for each
The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test (its also called GMAT CAT so dont get confused)
This means that unlike a paper-and-pencil test,
the next question is always determined on the spot, pulled from a large bank of questions inside the computer.
Based on your answers, you will either see more or less difficult questions, which will have an impact on your score.
Overall scores on the test range between 200 and 800. The final score is determined by your performance on the Verbal and Quantitative sections, and is accompanied by a percentile rank. The average score is 500.
And also if I am not wrong GMAT test takers are given 10 minutes break in between each section
And regarding CAT its unpredictable of how tough its going to be as its format changes every year
And I really wish someone could come out with the basic structure of IBSAT 2006
